How I Go From 100,000 Energy to Tier 7 Without Losing the Progression Thread
I stop scaling power after 100,000 Energy, clear the Stratacore gate, move into Aura, and return to the Tech Tree when 10,000 Aura makes Tier 7 ready.

Quick Answer
My late-game progression route is:
reach 100,000 Energy → open the Tech Tree and move into Tier 6 → follow the Strataform event beneath the survey grid → Secure the Stratacore → return after expansion protocols are cleared → unlock the Synthesizer path → build the Aura system → reach 10,000 Aura → wait for the saturation confirmation → open the Tech Tree → authorize Factory Tier 7
The two points where I most often stop doing the wrong work are simple:
100,000 Energy already reached → I stop adding power just for progression.
10,000 Aura already reached → I stop feeding the Aura system and check the Tech Tree.
Late-game Sandustry became much easier for me once I stopped treating every new unlock as something I had to build immediately.
By this point my factory can have:
- working batteries
- Steam generation
- Copper processing
- a Void Rift
- critters producing useful materials
- several unexplored cave branches
- new tool upgrades
- and more factory projects than I can finish at once
That is exactly why the route can feel less clear than the early tiers.
The factory is giving me many useful things to do, but only one of them is usually blocking the next promotion.
I keep the late-game route in four separate gates:
Energy → Stratacore → Aura → Tier 7.
Whenever I catch myself rebuilding something unrelated, I look at which of those four states I am actually in.
I Treat 100,000 Energy as a Finish Line, Not a Reason to Keep Scaling
Tier 5 gives me a very large electrical target:
reach a peak of 100,000 Energy.
Until I reach that number, power is the real progression problem.
If my total cannot get there, I stay with the batteries and Steam Turbines setup and fix the electrical system.
Once I have crossed the threshold, my decision changes.
In one of my runs, I had already climbed to 115,968 Energy when the next progression handoff appeared.
That was a useful reminder that I do not need to keep watching the number climb.
The target was 100,000.
I had already done the job.
At that point I open the Tech Tree instead of building another generator out of habit.
This is one of my clearest late-game stopping rules:
If the visible requirement is already complete, I check progression before increasing capacity again.
More Energy can still be useful for tools and machinery.
It is just no longer the thing that unlocks the next step.
I Open the Tech Tree After 100,000 Instead of Waiting for the Factory to Promote Itself
Crossing the Energy threshold does not make me sit beside the battery waiting for another number to change.
I open the Tech Tree and take the next available factory tier.
That is the handoff into the Tier 6 stage.
Very quickly, the new objective stops being about Energy at all.
The Sentinel reports a Strataform event directly beneath the survey grid and tells me that further expansion is blocked while the event remains active.
That is the moment I leave the factory.
I do not use the new tier as permission to spend ten minutes buying every optional node first.
I only buy something immediately if it removes the active blocker.
Otherwise my route is:
Tech Tree → leave the production floor → go beneath the survey grid → find the live core.
When the Strataform Event Appears, I Stop Treating the Problem as Factory Throughput
This is an easy place to waste time because the factory still has plenty of things that could be improved.
I might notice that:
- Copper is arriving slowly
- one battery is not full
- a belt could be upgraded
- Sand storage is lower than I like
- or a new research node looks useful
None of those clears the expansion lock.
The active gate is the Stratacore.
So I follow it.
If I am unsure how to control the growing Earth Strataform, what weapon is enough for the first event, or what to do with the captured core afterward, I use my Stratacore and Strataform route.
For progression, I only need one result from that trip:
Expansion protocols cleared.
The moment I see that confirmation, I know I am done with the gate.
I do not stay underground trying to turn the newly captured Stratacore into the perfect Sand farm before I continue.
That can wait.
I Come Back After the Stratacore Instead of Turning the Trip Into General Exploration
The Stratacore trip can easily become a long cave expedition.
There is usually something else nearby that looks worth collecting.
I can see:
Copper
or:
Red Sand
or:
critters
or another route I have not explored.
I still take something that is directly in front of me if it costs almost no time.
But once the live core is neutralized, I go back.
My progression path is not:
Secure Stratacore → clear every nearby cave → collect everything → eventually remember the Tech Tree.
It is:
Secure Stratacore → see expansion cleared → return → check the newly opened research path.
That is how I keep one underground objective from turning into an hour of unrelated cleanup.
The Synthesizer Is My Signal That the Next Gate Has Moved to Aura
Neutralizing the Stratacore clears the Synthesizer research path.
That is the important handoff.
I do not interpret it as:
now I should improve renewable Sand first.
I interpret it as:
the next progression system is ready.
The Aura stage has its own production chain and its own bottlenecks, so when I need to build or troubleshoot the actual conversion I move to my Aura Extraction setup.
For the late-game route, I keep only the finish line in my head:
10,000 Aura.
I do not duplicate every intermediate Aura material as another progression checklist.
If the Aura total is rising, I stay with that system.
If it stops rising, I troubleshoot the Aura chain itself.
If it reaches the target, I stop treating production as the problem.
I Do Not Let the Void Chain Replace the Active Aura Goal
The Void system is one of the easiest late-game distractions because it unlocks useful materials and tools at roughly the same stage of the game.
It is worth building.
It is also not where I look when the visible progression requirement is Aura.
If I specifically need Void Juice, Void Husk recycling, Fluxite, or the Void Gun, I use my Void production setup.
But I do not assume that finishing every Void project is required before Tier 7.
My progression decision comes from the current objective.
If Aura is still below 10,000, I keep my attention on Aura unless the Void system is directly supplying something I need to remove that bottleneck.
This rule matters because late-game research makes almost everything look important at the same time.
I ask one question:
Does this purchase or build move the active gate?
If the answer is no, I leave it for later.
I Keep Going Until the Aura Field Reaches 10,000
Starting Aura Extraction is not the finish line.
Seeing the first crystal is not the finish line.
Seeing Nanobots move is not the finish line.
For progression, I keep watching the Aura total until it reaches:
10,000.
That is the number that changes the state of the game.
The most useful thing about this target is that it gives me a clean stopping point.
Before 10,000:
I still have an Aura throughput problem.
At 10,000:
I have a progression check to perform.
I do not continue adding upstream production automatically after the counter is complete.
That would be the same mistake as continuing to expand Energy after 100,000.
The Tier 7 Prompt Tells Me to Open the Tech Tree
When the Aura field is saturated enough, the game gives a direct confirmation:
Threshold confirmed.
It then tells me the field is stable enough for the next expansion boundary and instructs me to:
open the Tech Tree and authorize Factory Tier 7.
This is the second place where I deliberately stop waiting for an automatic promotion.
The game has already told me what to do.
So I do not:
- make another batch of Aura material
- add another Nanobot upgrade
- rebuild the Extractor area
- or leave for another mining trip
just to see whether Tier 7 appears on its own.
I open the Tech Tree.
I Unlock Tier 7 as Soon as the Gate Is Ready
Once I have the saturation confirmation, I authorize Tier 7.
There is no benefit to holding the completed gate open while I finish optional factory projects first.
Anything I still want to improve can be improved after the promotion.
In the Early Access build I played, the Tier 7 unlock leads to a clear completion message:
Congratulations. You’ve reached the end of the early access.
That wording matters.
It does not mean my save is finished.
It means the current factory-tier progression is finished.
I can still have:
- unfinished research
- unoptimized systems
- unexplored caves
- weak Sand throughput
- incomplete achievements
- unfinished Void production
- and factory sections I want to rebuild
Those become optional goals rather than hidden requirements for a Tier 8 that I somehow failed to trigger.
I Do Not Keep Searching for Tier 8 in This Early Access Route
Once Tier 7 is active and the Early Access completion message appears, I change how I read the game.
Before Tier 7, a stalled objective usually means I have another progression gate to solve.
After Tier 7, I stop assuming every unfinished system is secretly blocking another tier.
That keeps me from doing things like:
produce far more than 10,000 Aura → wait for another message → buy random research → rebuild Energy → clear another cave → wonder why Tier 8 still does not appear.
In the build represented by this route, Tier 7 is the current progression endpoint.
So I use the rest of the save for the projects I actually want to finish.
That might be a cleaner factory.
It might be a stronger Void system.
It might be renewable Sand.
It might be achievements.
The important change is that I am no longer doing those things because I think they are a missing promotion condition.
My Tier 6 to Tier 7 Troubleshooting Order
If I am below 100,000 Energy:
I stay with the electrical system.
That is still the gate.
If I have already reached 100,000 Energy but I am still building power:
I stop and open the Tech Tree.
If the Strataform event is active:
I leave the factory and go beneath the survey grid.
I do not solve it with more factory throughput.
If the Stratacore has been neutralized:
I confirm that expansion protocols are cleared and return.
I do not need to perfect the renewable Sand reward before continuing.
If the Synthesizer path is available:
I move into Aura progression.
If the Aura counter is below 10,000:
I stay with Aura and fix the part of that system that is actually limiting the counter.
If the Aura counter has reached 10,000:
I wait for the threshold confirmation, then open the Tech Tree.
If Tier 7 is available:
I authorize it.
If I have already received the Early Access completion message:
I stop searching for another hidden factory-tier requirement.
That sequence is the late-game habit that saves me the most wasted work:
finish the visible gate → check the Tech Tree → follow the new objective → stop scaling the old system once its job is done.
The factory can always be bigger.
Progression only needs the part that is blocking the next step.
