Where to Find All 9 SCA.B 2K Themes in Grounded 2

Quick Answer

There are 9 SCA.B 2K themes in Grounded 2 Rot and Ruin: 1 starting theme determined by your character and 8 collectible themes hidden around Brookhollow Park.

The eight pickups are Someone’s, Aquamarine, BURG.L, Full Moon, Onyx Maverick, Nostalgia, Practical Technologies, and Ranger Station.

You need the full Diving Suit for Aquamarine, access to the Woodpile for Full Moon, a Dandelion Tuft for BURG.L, and the Tang Banger for Practical Technologies. Some locations also require story progression.

Rot and Ruin Public Test Build 0.6.0

SCA.B 2K themes change the colors of your inventory, hotbar, health display, and other interface elements. They are cosmetic and do not improve your weapons, armor, or character stats.

You receive your first theme when your character gets the SCA.B 2K at the start of the game. The other eight are physical pickups found across the park, including several locations you may have already cleared before Rot and Ruin.

Some are easy to collect during an ordinary return trip. Others are hidden beyond story-gated doors or in awkward positions where approaching from the wrong side will not work.

You can collect the eight hidden themes in any order once their locations are accessible.

Starting SCA.B 2K — Your Character’s Theme

Your starting theme is assigned when you receive the SCA.B 2K during the opening sequence.

It depends on the teenager you are playing.

Each playable character has a different starting color scheme. Switching characters changes the starting theme to match the newly selected character, rather than permanently unlocking all four character themes.

You do not need to search the park for this first theme.

The eight remaining themes are separate collectibles, and their locations do not depend on your character choice.

1. Someone’s SCA.B 2K — Statue Ranger Outpost

Location: Ceremony, Statue Ranger Outpost

Someone’s is one of the easiest themes to collect because it is inside a Ranger Outpost rather than behind a major traversal obstacle.

Travel to Ceremony and find the Statue Ranger Outpost, near the upper-right side of the Ceremony area.

Look for the outpost with markings associated with the Masked Stranger.

Enter the station and turn toward the red storage container on the right. The SCA.B is tucked behind it, close to the wall.

Inside the Statue Ranger Outpost, check behind the red container near the wall for Someone's SCA.B 2K.

The pickup can be overlooked if you only inspect the main equipment and leave the outpost immediately.

Someone’s changes your interface to a purple color scheme, including the inventory and hotbar.

If you are collecting themes while exploring the park, this is a convenient early stop because it does not require an underwater trip, a boss fight, or special building placement.

2. Aquamarine SCA.B 2K — The Abyss

Location: The Abyss, Rocky Chambers near the Sunken Cassette

Aquamarine is one of the more demanding pickups because it lies deep beneath Skunk Pond.

You need access to the Abyss and the equipment required to enter its deeper areas.

If you have not opened the Diving Deck, complete the Diving Suit unlock before attempting this trip.

Route to Aquamarine

Enter Skunk Pond and swim toward the middle, where the large submerged green chair provides a recognizable landmark.

Descend toward the Poly Pipes and follow them deeper into the water.

Continue toward the red-lit entrance leading into the Abyss. Reach the Diving Deck and enter using the required equipment.

Once inside:

  1. Proceed through the entrance into the Touchdown Zone.
  2. Take the route toward the Rocky Chambers.
  3. Head toward the back-left area near the Sunken Cassette.
  4. Look beside the nearby lab equipment for a small set of drawers or a low bench.

The Aquamarine SCA.B is resting on the furniture.

In the Abyss Rocky Chambers, search the furniture near the Sunken Cassette and nearby lab equipment.

If you have already completed the underwater progression, return through the route you know rather than restarting the entire Pond exploration sequence.

The Into the Abyss walkthrough covers the underwater path and major environmental obstacles.

Aquamarine gives your inventory and HUD a blue-aquamarine appearance.

3. BURG.L SCA.B 2K — Outside the BURG.L Statue

Location: BURG.L Statue, exterior window ledge

The BURG.L theme is easy to miss because the pickup is outside the statue, not inside its upper rooms.

You need to complete the relevant Statue Lab progression so you can reach the statue’s upper exit.

Bring a Dandelion Tuft before attempting the pickup.

How to Reach the Exterior Window

Travel to the BURG.L Statue in the central park area and make your way to the top.

Use the exit located between the statue’s eyes.

From there, move onto the statue’s shoulders and follow the outside edge toward the Pumpkin Patch side.

The target is a narrow ledge beside an exterior window.

The BURG.L SCA.B is outside the statue, on a narrow window ledge. Approach from above and use a Dandelion Tuft to land safely.

The important part is approaching from above rather than trying to reach the object through the window from inside.

Once you are positioned over the correct side:

  • Stay close to the statue’s outer wall.
  • Line yourself up with the window ledge.
  • Drop down carefully and deploy the Dandelion Tuft.
  • Steer toward the ledge rather than gliding away from the statue.
  • Land and collect the SCA.B.

You may need to adjust your starting position if you keep drifting past the window.

Do not attempt a full-speed drop without the Tuft. The ledge is narrow, and missing it can force you to repeat the climb.

BURG.L changes the interface to a light blue-gray theme, with a more neutral gray appearance on parts of the hotbar.

4. Full Moon SCA.B 2K — Woodpile Glove

Location: Woodpile Termite Nest, giant glove

Full Moon is inside the Termite Nest introduced in Rot and Ruin.

Travel to the northern Fire Pit and enter the Woodpile. Bring an Ant Buggy capable of chewing through the blocked entrance; the Black Soldier Ant Buggy is a reliable choice.

The entrance is raised above ground level among the stacked logs.

Follow the tunnels until you reach the large central chamber containing the discarded glove, axe, and Sacrificial Pit opening.

The Woodpile Termite Nest route covers the entrance and major landmarks.

You do not need to defeat Skritch or the O.G.R.R. Termite King to collect Full Moon.

Where on the Glove Is It?

Approach the giant glove in the central chamber.

The SCA.B is resting on one of the glove’s fingers, not on the ground beneath it.

Find Full Moon on a finger of the giant glove in the Woodpile's central chamber.

If you cannot see it from the floor, climb or move onto the glove and check the upper surfaces of its fingers.

The glove is also an important route marker, so this is a convenient pickup while learning the layout of the Woodpile.

Full Moon gives your inventory and HUD a dark charcoal-gray color scheme.

5. Onyx Maverick SCA.B 2K — Top of the Pergola

Location: Pergola, upper wooden structure

Onyx Maverick is high above the ground on the Pergola, so the challenge is reaching the correct upper section rather than entering a cave.

Travel to the Pergola area near Skunk Pond.

Climb the structure until you reach the highest wooden platform and supporting posts. A Buggy can make part of the approach easier, although you still need to position yourself carefully on the upper structure.

Look for the post closest to the Pond and the nearby ice cream container.

The SCA.B is beside a cable on the wooden surface near that post.

At the top of the Pergola, check beside the cable near the post facing Skunk Pond and the ice cream container.

If you reach the top and do not immediately see it, inspect the wooden surfaces around the cable supports rather than dropping back down.

The pickup is small enough to blend into the structure from a distance.

Onyx Maverick applies a muted olive-green color scheme to the inventory and hotbar.

6. Nostalgia SCA.B 2K — Memorial Crate

Location: Pine Hill, Memorial Crate

Nostalgia is hidden in the Memorial Crate reached through the Spider Den Anthill.

The southern entrance to the anthill provides a convenient approach.

If you have not previously opened the route, bring an Ant Buggy to chew through the Soggy Roots blocking the passage.

Finding the Memorial Crate

Enter the Spider Den Anthill from the south and follow the connected tunnels toward the Memorial Crate.

The crate is deep enough inside the area that you should plan to reach the destination before searching every side passage.

Once you enter the Memorial Crate, look for the picture frame toward the back.

The Nostalgia SCA.B is hidden low down in the wooden corner behind the frame.

Inside the Memorial Crate, look behind the picture frame and check the low wooden corner for Nostalgia.

If you are standing in front of the photograph and cannot see the item, move around it and examine the floor-level gap in the corner.

The object is small and can be missed when looking only at eye level.

Nostalgia gives your interface a warm vintage-brown appearance, including the hotbar and inventory.

7. Practical Technologies SCA.B 2K — Onboarding Facility

Location: Ominent Onboarding Facility, Snack Bar Front

Practical Technologies is behind a locked doorway in the Ominent Onboarding Facility.

You need the Tang Banger, obtained through story progression, to attempt the normal entrance.

Return to Snack Bar Front and enter the Ominent Onboarding Facility.

Follow the interior route to its fast-travel system, then travel back to the starting area.

After exiting the fast-travel point, move underneath the overhead wires. Look for the doorway blocked by dark material.

Use the Tang Banger on the obstruction and move away before it detonates.

If the door opens, enter the room and collect the SCA.B from the table inside.

What if the Tang Banger Door Does Not Open?

In Rot and Ruin Public Test Build 0.6.0, the Tang Banger can explode without clearing this particular doorway.

Repeated explosions may leave the same obstruction in place.

There is an alternative involving building placement and a Lean-To, although it relies on unintended behavior and may stop working after an update.

In Survival mode, floor materials matter.

Ordinary Grass Floors and Stem Floors are unsuitable because you cannot transport the required Grass Planks or Weed Stems to this part of the facility.

Use a floor type constructed from materials carried in your inventory:

  • Bur Floors
  • Mushroom Floors
  • Pumpkin Floors

Bring the required materials before returning to the blocked doorway.

Blocked Practical Technologies doorway inside the Ominent Onboarding Facility with floor placement active
The blocked doorway may reject normal entry in the public test build. In Survival, use Bur, Mushroom, or Pumpkin floors when attempting the building workaround.

To attempt the workaround:

  1. Place a suitable floor against the doorway.
  2. Extend the building surface toward the other side of the obstruction.
  3. Build a Lean-To and use its relocation interaction.
  4. Position the Lean-To beyond the blocked doorway.
  5. Set it as your respawn point.
  6. Use Give Up to respawn inside the room.

The building interface may display Location Occupied when a particular placement is invalid.

Adjust the floor or Lean-To position until the game accepts the placement. Repeatedly pressing Place at exactly the same blocked position will not resolve the obstruction.

The workaround depends on successfully positioning the Lean-To beyond the doorway. If the game no longer permits this, the method will not work.

Where Is Practical Technologies Inside?

Once you enter the room, look for the tables containing equipment and other objects.

The Practical Technologies SCA.B is resting on a table.

After entering the room, collect Practical Technologies from the table among the equipment.

If you entered through the Lean-To workaround, remove the temporary Lean-To after collecting the item.

Then use Give Up again and select the available respawn option at the nearby Onboarding Facility to return outside.

Prepare for this before attempting the workaround, particularly if you are carrying valuable equipment.

If your Tang Banger opens the door normally, none of the building steps are necessary.

Practical Technologies changes the interface to a light gray color scheme.

8. Ranger Station SCA.B 2K — Greenhouse Lab

Location: Greenhouse, Ranger Station laboratory

The final collectible is inside the Greenhouse Lab, in the Ranger Station area.

You need to have progressed far enough through the relevant story section to access the interior rooms.

Travel to the Greenhouse and enter the lab. The entrance underneath the wooden planks provides a convenient approach.

Continue through the facility toward the room containing the Bonsai tree.

When you reach the room, turn left and check the nearby shelves.

The SCA.B is resting on a shelf against the wall, close to the laboratory equipment. A DANGER warning sign near the laser equipment is another useful landmark.

Inside the Greenhouse Lab, check the wall shelves near the Bonsai room and laser warning sign for the Ranger Station SCA.B.

This is another pickup that can be missed during normal story progression because the item is small and placed among ordinary environmental objects.

If the room is still inaccessible, continue the Greenhouse story objectives rather than searching for an alternative way through the locked section.

The Ranger Station theme changes the inventory and hotbar to a pale gray appearance.

How to Change Your SCA.B 2K Theme

After collecting a theme, open the SCA.B 2K customization interface and select the appearance you want to use.

The selected theme changes the colors of several interface elements, including the inventory, hotbar, and health display.

You can switch between collected themes without returning to the original pickup locations.

Your character’s starting theme remains tied to the currently selected teenager, while the eight collectible themes stay available once obtained.

The color choice does not affect combat damage, movement, equipment requirements, or other character abilities.

If you prefer a brighter interface for dark underground areas, Someone’s purple or Aquamarine blue may be easier to distinguish than one of the darker gray themes.

For a more subdued appearance, Full Moon, Nostalgia, Onyx Maverick, or the gray laboratory themes provide alternatives.

The collection is complete once you have your character’s starting theme and all eight hidden pickups. You do not need to obtain the starting themes belonging to the other playable teenagers.
