Make Dream Dust in the Alchemy Lab by creating Science, studying Blood and Water, mixing the two ingredients, and returning it to the Plague Doctor.

Once the Alchemy Lab is open, make enough Science to study Blood and Water, then combine Blood + Water to make Dream Dust. Take the finished powder back to the Plague Doctor.
If the Abandoned Tower is still locked, finish the Abandoned Tower and Secret Combination route first.
Dream Dust is easy to mix once the Alchemy Lab is working. The confusing part is that having Blood and Water in your inventory is not enough.
I reached the mixing equipment with both materials ready and initially treated the problem like a missing recipe. The actual requirement was research: Blood and Water have to be studied before the alchemy system can use their properties.
The shortest route through this objective is therefore:
get Science → study Blood → study Water → mix Blood + Water → return the Dream Dust to the Plague Doctor
There is no reason to buy another recipe or keep searching merchants once the lab is available.
Make Sure the Alchemy Lab Is Open
Dream Dust is made inside the Alchemy Lab in the Abandoned Tower.
If you can already enter the lab, stay there and start preparing the research step. If the tower itself is still locked, gathering Blood, Water or extra crafting materials will not solve that problem. Complete the Abandoned Tower route first, then come back once the laboratory is accessible.
The materials themselves are ordinary compared with the work needed to make them useful. You need Blood, Water and enough Science to reveal their alchemy properties.
That makes Science the first thing worth checking after you enter the room.
Get Enough Science Before Using the Study Table
Studying ingredients consumes Science.
Clean Paper is one practical Science source during this part of the game. If you are short, use the available decomposition process until you have enough to research the ingredients required for Dream Dust.
Do not turn this into a large Science-production project. You only need enough to clear the studies currently blocking the recipe. Once Blood and Water are understood, additional Science does not improve this particular mixture.
This is also why repeatedly returning to the mixing equipment does nothing when the ingredients have not been researched. The game is not waiting for another bottle, workstation or merchant purchase; it is waiting for the Study Table step.
Study Blood and Water
Use the Study Table on both ingredients:
- Blood
- Water
Research each one before attempting the final combination.
You do not need a rare version of either material. The important change happens when their properties are revealed through study. Once both entries have been researched, leave the Study Table and move to the laboratory mixing equipment.
There is no benefit in studying unrelated materials first if Dream Dust is the objective currently blocking your progress.
Mix Blood + Water to Make Dream Dust
The Dream Dust combination is:
Blood + Water
Place one ingredient on each side of the alchemy interface and mix them after both have been studied.
A successful mixture gives you the Dream Dust needed for the quest.
At this point there is no need to make extra batches for this objective. The next useful action is to leave the lab and return to the Plague Doctor with the finished powder.
Return the Dream Dust to the Plague Doctor
Crafting Dream Dust does not complete the hand-in automatically.
Take it back to the Plague Doctor and speak with him again. He checks the powder and the quest can then move past the Dream Dust requirement.
Leaving the powder in storage or walking away after crafting it will leave the story at the same stage. The hand-in is the part that changes the objective.
After Dream Dust, Look for Comet’s Tail
Once the Plague Doctor accepts the Dream Dust, the next missing ingredient is Comet’s Tail.
That sends you toward Gunter the Astrologer in the Port.
There is nothing useful to gain by continuing to produce Dream Dust for this step. Once the hand-in is finished, shift your attention to reaching Gunter and getting the next ingredient.
