Silent Hill Townfall Clinic Scales Puzzle Solution
Find the three Clinic Scales items, place the Broken Stethoscope, Prescription Dosage Error Note, and Zoe's Keycard correctly, and finish Part 1.
Updated:
Quick Answer
In Zoe Ellis’s room, place the Broken Stethoscope on the left, the Prescription Dosage Error Note in the middle, and Zoe’s Keycard on the right.
The three scales in Shorefront Family Clinic are not asking you to compare weight. Their order comes from Zoe’s Resignation Letter, which describes three reasons she believes she failed as a district nurse.
That distinction matters because Simon reaches the scales before he has everything needed to solve them. One object is already in your inventory, another comes from the Pharmacy, and the last requires a two-key route between number 16 and Jess White’s house at 21 Pharaoh Street.
Read Zoe’s Resignation Letter Before Leaving the Clinic
The letter beside the scales gives the logic behind the puzzle.
Zoe says that she:
didn’t listen closely enough,
made mistakes and couldn’t focus on the task at hand,
and was not fit to work in this role any longer.
Those three statements correspond to the three objects you eventually place on the scales.
You cannot finish the puzzle during this first visit. Take the Scalpel from Zoe’s work area before leaving, because it opens blocked access as the route continues through the Pharmacy and St. Amelia Park.
Keep Zoe’s Keycard
The first required object is Zoe’s Keycard, which Simon obtained earlier from the Human Organ in Transit container at Zoe’s house.
That container uses:
Left lock: 956
Right lock: 133
Opening it gives you Zoe’s Clinic identification. For the full route through Zoe’s house and its power sequence, follow the Part 1 Arrival walkthrough.
Do not treat the card as finished after using it to enter the Clinic. Its printed role is exactly why it becomes one of the three answers to the scales.
Get the Prescription Dosage Error Note From the Pharmacy
At Clinic reception, call 2896 and listen to the message for Nurse Ellis. The Pharmacy on Main Street reports a prescription with a dosage that appears wrong.
Go there and open the locker with:
6539
Take the Prescription Dosage Error Note inside.
The note concerns Mr. Stewart and says the increased dosage is far above the previous amount and needs confirmation from Nurse Ellis. That makes it the clearest physical match for Zoe’s statement that she made mistakes.
You only need the note for the scales. If you still need the four CRTV clues that produce 6539, use the Pharmacy Locker Code solution.
Once the note is in your inventory, continue toward St. Amelia Park rather than returning to the Clinic. The Broken Stethoscope is still missing.
Follow the Two-Key Route to the Broken Stethoscope
Use the Scalpel to continue through the blocked route around St. Amelia Park, then work toward the residential buildings connected to Jess.
The key chain runs in a loop:
number 16 → 21 Pharaoh Street → number 16
At number 16, collect the:
21 Pharaoh Street Back Door Key
Take that key to Jess White’s house at 21 Pharaoh Street and enter through the back.
Inside Jess’s house, search until you find the:
Lockbox Key
A note there also confirms that Zoe’s back-door key had been left with Walter at number 16, which is the clue that sends you back to the building you just came from.
Return to number 16 and use the Lockbox Key on the small metal lockbox there.
That route leads you to the Broken Stethoscope.
The tubing has been deliberately severed. More importantly for the puzzle, the object directly matches the first line of Zoe’s resignation: she believes she didn’t listen closely enough.
You should now have all three required objects:
Broken Stethoscope
Prescription Dosage Error Note
Zoe’s Keycard
Return to Shorefront Family Clinic.
Place the Three Items From Left to Right
Go back to Zoe Ellis’s room and interact with the three scales.
The correct arrangement is:
Left — Broken Stethoscope
Middle — Prescription Dosage Error Note
Right — Zoe’s Keycard
There is no numerical balancing step, and the physical weight of each object does not matter. The three positions follow the order of ideas in the Resignation Letter.
Why the Broken Stethoscope Goes on the Left
Zoe’s first admission is that she didn’t listen closely enough.
The Stethoscope is the direct match to that statement. It is a medical instrument built around listening, and its deliberately severed tubing reinforces the connection.
Place the Broken Stethoscope on the left.
Why the Prescription Note Goes in the Middle
The second part of the letter says Zoe made mistakes and couldn’t focus on the task at hand.
The Prescription Dosage Error Note records exactly that kind of failure: Mr. Stewart’s dosage was increased far beyond the previous amount, and the Pharmacy wanted Zoe to confirm whether it was correct.
Place the Prescription Dosage Error Note in the middle.
You do not need to revisit the Pharmacy or interact with the 6539 locker again once the note is in your inventory.
Why Zoe’s Keycard Goes on the Right
The final part of the resignation is about Zoe no longer believing she is fit to continue in her role.
Her Keycard states that role directly:
Zoe Ellis
Shorefront Family Clinic
District Nurse
Place Zoe’s Keycard on the right.
The three scales now mirror the letter in order:
listen → mistake → role
That is the logic behind the finished arrangement rather than a weight calculation.
What Happens After the Correct Placement
Once all three objects are sitting on the correct scales, the Clinic sequence advances automatically.
If nothing happens, recheck the first two positions. The easiest mistake is swapping the Broken Stethoscope and Prescription Dosage Error Note because both are connected to Zoe’s medical failures.
The finished order must be:
Broken Stethoscope → Prescription Dosage Error Note → Zoe’s Keycard
Completing the sequence ends Part 1: Arrival and changes the playable perspective.
The next section begins as:
Part 2: Zoe
