Chapter 3 Walkthrough – A Mad Tea Party

Quick Answer

After arriving in Grancel, report in and complete the Erbe Royal Villa sequence until Renne returns with you. Continue the capital investigation until Renne gives Estelle Joshua’s letter, then go to the Annenburg Wall at Gurune Gate. After the Archaism fight, return to the Grancel Bracer Guild, follow the Tea Party trail to the harbor, then clear Orgueille and the following fight with Kanone.

Chapter 3 changes direction several times before it finally shows what the Tea Party actually is.

The early hours feel like ordinary Guild work around Grancel: travel to Erbe Royal Villa, find Renne, return to the capital, and keep following the required investigations. The chapter becomes much more linear once the letter that appears to come from Joshua reaches Estelle. From that point forward, each event feeds directly into the next one until the harbor finale.

If you have not finished the Zeiss earthquake case yet, complete the Chapter 2 walkthrough first.

Take the First Investigation to Erbe Royal Villa

After arriving in Grancel, report to the local Bracer Guild and follow the first major assignment out toward Erbe Royal Villa.

The villa section turns into a search for a missing girl rather than a combat mission. Keep working through the area until you actually find Renne and she agrees to return with the group.

Reaching the villa is not enough by itself. The progression trigger is Renne leaving with Estelle so the Guild can help locate her parents.

This stretch also contains BP-sensitive investigation checks. If you are protecting an A-Rank run, check the BP and quest guide before closing out the villa sequence.

Let the Grancel Investigation Reach Evening

Back in the capital, continue the required visits and conversations through Grancel.

There is no hidden boss or optional dungeon you need to trigger here. The chapter is deliberately moving through several political and investigative stops before the next major event.

The turning point arrives when Renne gives Estelle a letter.

She says it was handed to her by a boy with black hair and amber eyes. The description matches Joshua, and the handwriting looks convincing enough that Estelle accepts it immediately.

The meeting place is explicit:

Annenburg Wall at Gurune Gate, that night.

Joshua letter directing Estelle to Annenburg Wall at Gurune Gate
The letter gives Estelle a specific destination: Annenburg Wall at Gurune Gate that night.

Once you have this message, leave Grancel and go to Gurune Gate. There is no second Joshua clue hidden elsewhere in the capital.

Kevin Is Waiting at Gurune Gate, Not Joshua

Estelle reaches the wall expecting Joshua and instead finds Kevin Graham.

Kevin has also been summoned by a letter, but his message was supposedly delivered by a middle-aged man. That contradiction is the first clear sign that both of them have been deliberately lured away.

Before the letters can be fully compared, a group of modern Archaisms attacks.

Clear the machines and let the scene continue. Kevin notices that the envelopes are the same type, while news arrives that an armed group has attacked Erbe Royal Villa.

At this point, the wall is finished as a destination. Head back toward Grancel.

The Grancel Guild Attack Starts the Tea Party Pursuit

When Estelle returns to the Grancel Bracer Guild, the people inside have collapsed.

They are still alive, but the scene looks more like sudden forced sleep than a normal assault. The Guild’s communicators have also been sabotaged.

Then the party finds another letter.

Tea Party letter found after the Grancel Bracer Guild attack
The letter links the Guild attack, the missing Duke, and Renne's disappearance to the same Tea Party operation.

Renne is gone, and Duke Dunan is missing as well.

The earlier distractions now fit together: armed groups are keeping the Royal Army occupied, fake messages are moving specific people out of position, and the Tea Party is happening inside the capital.

Anelace heads toward Erbe Royal Villa to warn security headquarters while the remaining group follows the active trail through Grancel.

Follow the Fleeing Target to Grancel Harbor

The Royal Army is already committed to chasing armed groups around the scenic route.

That leaves the capital itself exposed long enough for the real operation to move forward.

Keep following the pursuit until the destination becomes explicit:

the fleeing target is heading for the harbor.

Chapter 3 pursuit pointing toward Grancel Harbor
Once the target turns toward the harbor, keep following that route; the final sequence is already underway.

The harbor is the point where I top off HP and EP and make sure I still have enough recovery for consecutive fights.

The large tank ahead is not the chapter’s final battle.

The Gospel Shuts Down Arts Before Orgueille

At the harbor, the group catches up with Kanone Amalthea and the Special Ops remnants.

Their main weapon is Orgueille, the Intelligence Division’s orbital tank. The stolen engine has made the machine operational again, but the Gospel attached to the plan creates the more unusual problem.

When it activates, nearby orbments shut down.

For a short period, Arts are unavailable.

Gospel shutting down orbments before the Orgueille battle
The Gospel disables nearby orbments and Arts, but Kevin's intervention restores them before the tank fight continues normally.

This shutdown is temporary.

Kevin uses the Kronos Rod and estimates the attempt at only a 50/50 chance. Breaking the artifact releases enough energy to overload the Gospel, bringing the lights and orbments back online.

Once that happens, the party can use Arts again.

Do not spend the rest of the encounter playing as though the shutdown is permanent.

Orgueille Can Punish a Party Sitting at Low HP

Once the Gospel is disabled, Orgueille becomes a more conventional boss fight, but it still has enough burst pressure to punish a weak recovery cycle.

Two attacks are worth recognizing:

  • Armor Evolution, which helps the tank stay in the fight;
  • Marvel Cannon, a heavy attack that can punish a party already sitting at low HP.

I keep recovery ahead of the tank rather than waiting for multiple characters to fall into danger at the same time. Arts are available again, so healing Arts and the offensive setup you were already using both remain relevant.

The other resource decision matters at the end of the fight.

Do not empty the entire inventory simply because Orgueille is almost dead. The game moves directly into another confrontation after the tank goes down.

Kanone Fights After Orgueille

Destroying Orgueille does not end the harbor sequence.

Kanone and the remaining Special Ops soldiers continue the fight.

This is why I try to finish the tank encounter with the party still functional instead of barely surviving the last turn. HP, EP, revival items, and any remaining burst options still have immediate value.

There is no new puzzle or travel section between the two battles. Finish Kanone’s group and let the story resolve the attempted coup.

Once Kanone falls, Duke Dunan is rescued.

Renne is still missing.

Renne Was Never Kidnapped

Duke Dunan makes the next clue unusually clear:

there was no girl inside the tank with him.

Kanone’s side also denies kidnapping Renne from the Guild.

Renne then returns on her own.

The reveal explains why the chapter’s earlier events never fit together cleanly. She identifies herself as Ouroboros Enforcer No. 15, Renne, the Angel of Slaughter, and admits that she arranged the Tea Party.

Her letter count also ties the operation together: nine threatening letters, plus one each for Kevin, Kanone, and Estelle, making 12 in total.

The fake Joshua letter was part of the same setup.

There is no separate Renne rescue after this point. Let the confrontation finish and return to the Guild.

Finish the Remaining Grancel Work Before Leaving

After the Tea Party incident, the main story begins looking beyond Grancel.

New information points toward the Bose region: sky-pirate remnants have appeared around their old base near Nebel Valley, and an airship has been stolen.

Before leaving, check the Guild if you are doing a completion run. Piscine Pilferer and Kirsche Avenue Monster become available after the main Chapter 3 boss sequence, so boarding out immediately can leave Grancel work unfinished.

The exact quest and BP conditions stay in the BP and quest guide.

On the Scherazard route, the party prepares to head toward Bose. That trip does not go as planned; once the flight is interrupted by the strange fog over Rolent, continue with the Chapter 4 walkthrough.
