Ghost of Yotei: How to Unlock Jin Sakai in Most Wanted
Unlock Jin Sakai in Most Wanted by reaching 28,800 total Mon spent, then learn his Storm Blade stances, Dance of Wrath, and Ghost Stance.

Quick Answer
Jin Sakai is the final Most Wanted hunter and unlocks after 28,800 total Mon spent. The game tracks spending, not the amount sitting in your wallet.
Check Jin in Hunters to see how much spending remains, then use Mon on Techniques, Weapons, or Shop Items until that number reaches zero.
Jin comes after Oyuki and Nagato in Most Wanted’s hunter progression.
The unlock thresholds are cumulative:
- Oyuki — 3,500 total Mon spent
- Nagato — 10,200 total Mon spent
- Jin Sakai — 28,800 total Mon spent
You do not need to save 28,800 Mon at once. Buying upgrades is the progression.
Jin’s Number Shows How Much Mon Is Left to Spend
Open Hunters and move to Jin’s locked entry.
A message such as SPEND 12,110 MORE ON TECHNIQUES, WEAPONS, OR SHOP ITEMS TO UNLOCK is not Jin’s fixed price.
It means that, at that moment, another 12,110 Mon must be spent on qualifying purchases before the unlock is complete.
The Hunters menu is therefore the most useful place to track the final stretch. Your current wallet balance only matters because it determines how much of that remaining requirement you can spend immediately.
What Counts Toward Jin’s 28,800 Mon Requirement?
Jin’s screen names three qualifying categories:
- Techniques
- Weapons
- Shop Items
Most Wanted also tracks your total spending across progression, so purchases made while building Atsu, Oyuki, or Nagato help move Jin toward his 28,800 threshold.
That makes Global upgrades particularly useful on the way to Jin because those purchases improve more than one hunter. Weapon and Class upgrades still count, but their value depends more heavily on the character you are actually using.
If you are still deciding where to put Mon, the Most Wanted guide covers Global and Class Skill Trees, weapon upgrades, Charms, Meals, and when to move into harder Hunts.
Check Jin Before Starting Another Hunt
Once the remaining number becomes small, check it before committing to another full bounty.
If Jin shows 1,000 Mon remaining and you already have enough Mon for useful qualifying upgrades, spend it instead of automatically starting another Hunt.
When the final required spending is completed, Jin unlocks and becomes selectable from the Hunters menu.
There is no separate open-world quest to find after that. His unlock happens entirely through Most Wanted progression.
Jin Uses Four Storm Blade Stances
Selecting Jin introduces his Storm Blade stance system.
Instead of relying on several different main melee weapons for every matchup, Jin can switch between four distinct stances.
Use the stance that matches the enemy in front of you rather than staying in one stance for an entire Hunt. Shield users, sword users, and other weapon types are much easier to control when the Storm Blade is in the appropriate stance.
Jin does not begin with a Yari as part of this stance kit. A Yari can appear through a Hunt perk, but it is not part of his normal four-stance baseline.
His starting tools also include Sticky Bomb and Hankyu, giving him ranged and Quickfire options without replacing the stance system.
Dance of Wrath Costs 2 Spirit
Dance of Wrath is Jin’s Ultimate.
It performs three consecutive unblockable attacks, deals heavy damage, and can disarm enemies. Activating it costs 2 Spirit.
That makes the last two points of Spirit worth protecting when a dangerous encounter is close. Spending everything immediately before a miniboss or bounty fight can leave one of Jin’s strongest emergency options unavailable.
There is no need to preserve 2 Spirit through every normal wave, but entering a difficult fight with the Ultimate ready gives Jin a direct way to break momentum when several threats are active at once.
Ghost Stance Is Not Automatically Active When Jin Unlocks
Jin can appear in Hunters while Ghost Stance is still locked.
The ability is tied to his Techniques, so unlocking Jin and unlocking every part of his combat kit are separate steps.
Check Jin’s available Techniques before taking him into a harder Hunt. If Ghost Stance is still locked and you want to build around his Kill Streak ability, purchase the relevant progression first.
Most Wanted perks can also alter how quickly or safely Jin builds toward his Kill Streak during a run, so perk choices that support the way you are already fighting can matter more than simply adding another weapon.
Use an Easier Hunt to Learn Jin’s Stances
Jin has answers to several enemy types immediately, but that only helps if stance changes become automatic during combat.
Start with a bounty difficulty you already understand. Use the opening waves to practice changing Storm Blade stance as enemy types change, learn when Sticky Bomb is worth spending, and get a feel for how often 2 Spirit can be reserved for Dance of Wrath without hurting normal recovery.
Once those decisions feel reliable, move him into the harder bounty progression.
