How to Reach Dracula's Castle in Castlevania Belmont's Curse

Quick Answer

After Stop the Resurrection, follow Collapsed Path of Orpheus to the Ferryman and speak with him to continue toward the surface. Travel through Realm of Old Night, Bridge of the Millers, and Court of Justice, then proceed through Bishop’s Office, Justice District Sewers, and Palace of Justice.

You do not need to resolve the Tree of Justice clue before reaching the castle. Continue to the first Isaac encounter; the figure you fight is an illusion, and his true body is in the Clock Tower. After the encounter and Leon’s intervention, proceed into Dracula’s Castle.

Dracula’s Castle becomes visible long before Rose reaches its entrance. After the resurrection, the route takes her from the Catacombs through the Ferryman’s crossing and the streets, courts, and sewers of Justice District.

The journey ends with an encounter against Isaac near the castle approach. Along the way, Rose can investigate the Tree of Justice and collect another weapon, but neither discovery changes the route she must follow to reach the castle.

How to Leave the Catacombs After Stop the Resurrection

The journey begins after the events of Stop the Resurrection. Dracula has returned, and Rose must find a route from the underground passages toward his castle.

If you have not reached this story transition, complete the confrontation in the Catacombs walkthrough first.

When the next objective begins, continue into Collapsed Path of Orpheus. This is the area to follow rather than returning through Blood Pits, Charnel Galleries, or the earlier guardian routes.

There are two XP statues associated with Collapsed Path of Orpheus during this journey. One appears before the first meeting with the Ferryman, while another can be collected farther along the route.

They are useful for gaining experience but do not determine whether Rose can leave the underground area.

Find the Ferryman and Take the First Crossing

The Ferryman is encountered along Collapsed Path of Orpheus, at the crossing that leads away from the deeper Catacombs.

Speak to the Ferryman during Collapsed Path of Orpheus. His crossing leads Rose away from the deeper Catacombs toward the next part of Paris.

Rose asks the Ferryman to take her back toward the surface. He initially responds with little urgency, even as she explains that Dracula has returned and that she needs to reach the city.

Continue the conversation to proceed with the crossing.

The Ferryman’s remarks about death and grief are part of the encounter. You do not need to obtain a new key, perform a ritual, or defeat another guardian to persuade him to carry Rose onward.

This is also Rose’s first introduction to the Ferryman’s travel function. He indicates that their paths may cross again, but there is no need to investigate additional destinations before continuing toward Dracula.

After the crossing, follow the connected route through Realm of Old Night. An XP statue is available in this section before the journey returns toward the streets.

If you are still searching the earlier Catacombs rooms for an exit, head toward Collapsed Path of Orpheus and speak to the Ferryman instead of returning to the three-key gate.

Bridge of the Millers: Follow the Route Toward Court of Justice

After Realm of Old Night, Rose reaches Bridge of the Millers.

This is where Dracula’s Castle becomes clearly visible. Rose recognizes the destination, but the journey is not finished.

An XP statue is available on the bridge. Continue toward Court of Justice, the next major area on the approach.

During this section, Leon warns Rose that her hatred and desire for revenge could make her vulnerable to Dracula’s influence. The conversation does not introduce a new task that must be completed before entering Justice District.

Rose remains determined to reach the castle, even as her companions question whether she is prepared to face Dracula while struggling with her curse.

Court of Justice: Collect the Brave Heart Fragment

Court of Justice contains a Brave Heart Fragment.

This is worth picking up during the first visit if you can reach it without a substantial detour. A permanent upgrade remains useful for the encounters ahead, particularly when you are already moving through the area.

You do not need to clear every optional passage in Court of Justice before proceeding. The main route continues toward Bishop’s Office and the connected Justice District passages.

If you are trying to determine whether you have reached the castle entrance, remember that Court of Justice is still outside Dracula’s Castle. Continue through the district rather than treating the castle visible in the distance as an entrance you can reach directly from the bridge.

Bishop’s Office: Warning from Father and the Hospital Relic Clue

In Bishop’s Office, Rose can investigate Warning from Father, a note connected to Trevor Belmont, and a spirit clue recorded as Hospital Relic, associated with The Miser.

The Hospital Relic clue belongs to Rose’s investigation. It is not an equippable Relic that appears in her equipment inventory.

After examining these discoveries, continue toward Justice District Sewers and the route to Palace of Justice.

Get the Bastard Sword in Justice District Sewers

A chest in Justice District Sewers contains the Bastard Sword.

This is the notable weapon pickup on the approach to the Palace of Justice. If you find its chest during your first passage, collect it before continuing.

The Bastard Sword provides another equipment option, but acquiring it does not open the castle entrance or change the conditions for the next encounter.

If your current weapon is working well, you can keep using it. There is no need to change equipment immediately just because Rose has found a different sword.

A save point appears farther along the route before the Palace of Justice section. Use it to restore Rose’s condition after the sewer encounters.

This is a more useful place to prepare than returning to an earlier Paris district simply to search for another weapon.

Palace of Justice: Is the Tree of Justice Required?

In Palace of Justice, Rose encounters Balancing the Scales of Justice, a spirit clue associated with The Judge.

The clue describes a figure trapped within the Tree of Justice by a dark influence. Restoring the balance of justice may help free that person.

The Judge's clue concerns a trapped figure inside the Tree of Justice.

You can continue toward Dracula’s Castle without resolving the Tree of Justice mystery.

If your immediate objective is reaching the castle, proceed beyond the Palace toward Isaac. Return to the tree when you want to investigate the trapped figure.

Continue Beyond the Palace of Justice

Follow the passages beyond the Palace toward Dracula’s Castle.

During this stretch, Leon speaks with Rose about the Belmont family’s history and the curse affecting her. Continue through the district until you reach the encounter with Isaac.

Use the available save point to recover before approaching him if the earlier fights have depleted your health or healing supplies.

How to Get Past Isaac Before Dracula’s Castle

Isaac confronts Rose near the final approach to Dracula’s Castle. He is serving Dracula and intends to prevent her from reaching his master.

Complete the encounter to advance the story.

Why Is Isaac Still Alive After the Fight?

After the confrontation, Isaac reveals that the figure Rose fought was an illusion.

The first Isaac encounter is an illusion. His true body is guarding Dracula in the Clock Tower.

Isaac explains that Death bound his soul to the castle. His true body is in the Clock Tower, guarding Dracula while the vampire lord gathers strength.

The first fight therefore does not permanently defeat Isaac. Once he reveals the illusion, continue through the following story sequence toward the castle entrance.

Where Is the Entrance to Dracula’s Castle?

After Isaac reveals that his first appearance was an illusion, Leon intervenes to protect Rose. Let their conversation finish, then continue forward from the encounter area.

There is no additional puzzle or guardian key to collect between this confrontation and the castle entrance.

When the location changes to Dracula’s Castle, the journey through Justice District is complete.
