Where to Find All New Weapons in DayZ Badlands

Quick Answer

Search Tier 1–2 military areas for the Luger, Tier 2–3 rural and hunting locations for the Lee Enfield, and Tier 3 towns and farms for the MP-18.

The SCR16 appears in Tier 3 military areas, helicopter crashes, and convoys. For the Golden KA-M and rare wooden VSD, visit Kala Iloo Outpost in the eastern desert. The SCR-17 is found in Nasdara’s contaminated tunnel.

The difference between looking for a Lee Enfield and hunting a Golden KA-M is much larger than the weapons themselves. One can appear in ordinary rural settlements, while the other requires a journey to a specific eastern outpost where another survivor may already have taken it.

Nasdara’s new firearms are distributed across several loot categories. Some give fresh characters useful options without requiring a military expedition; others are scarce enough that reaching the correct location is only the beginning.

It also matters what you can carry away. Finding a powerful rifle without its magazine or compatible ammunition may not improve your chances of surviving the next fight. A less impressive weapon that is already loaded can be the better choice, especially when you have limited inventory space.

These are loot categories and designated locations, not guaranteed pickups. Weapons can be missing because another player has collected them, the local loot has not replenished, or the server uses different economy settings.

The most useful distinction is between a loot tier and a specific destination. Searching Tier 3 farms gives you many possible locations for an MP-18. The Golden KA-M, by contrast, is associated with one particular outpost.

Golden KA-M Location: Kala Iloo Outpost

The Golden KA-M is one of Nasdara’s rarest firearm variants, with its designated spawn at Kala Iloo Outpost in the eastern desert.

Under the normal Nasdara loot configuration, only one Golden KA-M can be present in the active loot pool at a time.

Its matching golden magazines are also restricted:

  • Golden 30-round magazines: up to 2.
  • Golden 75-round drum: up to 1.

These limits apply separately. Finding a golden drum magazine does not guarantee the rifle will be nearby, and reaching the outpost does not guarantee any of those items will still be available.

The Golden KA-M uses 7.62×39mm ammunition. Its distinctive golden magazines include a rare 75-round drum.

The remote location is a significant part of the challenge.

Crossing eastern Nasdara for a weapon that may already have been collected is a poor opening objective when you are still struggling with water or basic equipment. Kala Iloo becomes more reasonable once you have enough supplies to survive the journey and a way to return with anything you find.

If you need to prepare drinking water before the crossing, use the Nasdara water survival instructions.

Is the Golden KA-M Worth the Trip?

It is worth considering when you specifically want the rare variant and are prepared for the possibility of finding nothing.

For ordinary survival, its gold finish does not justify abandoning a reliable firearm or spending your last resources travelling across the desert.

If your immediate goal is a functioning assault rifle, searching appropriate military loot areas gives you more flexibility than travelling directly to an outpost with a highly restricted item.

The golden magazines also have limited availability. Waiting beside an empty loot position is not a reliable way to force a replacement to appear.

Where Is the Wooden VSD Variant?

Kala Iloo Outpost is also the designated location for Nasdara’s rare wooden-style VSD variant.

Unlike the other new firearms, this is a distinctive version of an existing rifle rather than a separate weapon platform with a new ammunition type.

That creates a useful secondary objective when visiting Kala Iloo.

If the Golden KA-M is absent, check the remaining rifle loot before leaving. You may still find the wooden VSD variant, although its appearance is not guaranteed either.

Both weapons are reasons to visit the outpost, but neither should be treated as a dependable pickup for a new character.

Lee Enfield: Where to Find the Rifle and Its Magazine

You can search for a Lee Enfield without entering a high-tier military base.

It appears across Tier 2 and Tier 3 farming, town, village, and hunting loot areas, making it a more accessible rifle during normal travel between settlements.

The rifle uses 7.62×54mmR ammunition and a detachable 10-round magazine. Its magazines can appear in the same general loot categories as the rifle.

Under the standard loot configuration, the map supports up to 30 Lee Enfield rifles and 33 matching magazines.

The Lee Enfield can appear in Tier 2–3 rural and hunting areas. Its 10-round detachable magazine is collected separately.

The Lee Enfield has an important limitation: you cannot attach a normal optical sight.

That makes it a different choice from rifles you can equip with a scope for longer-range engagements. Its bolt-action operation also means you must account for the delay between shots.

For a survivor moving through rural Nasdara, however, finding a rifle that uses powerful ammunition without requiring a specific remote outpost is a meaningful upgrade.

Found the Lee Enfield but No Magazine?

Continue searching the same general loot categories rather than travelling immediately toward a high-tier military location.

Farms, hunting areas, and suitable settlements can contain its detachable magazine.

A rifle and its magazine are separate loot items, so they may not appear in the same building.

Until you have the equipment needed to use the Enfield effectively, keep another loaded firearm available if possible. A weapon that can already handle your next encounter is more useful than one you are still trying to complete.

SCR16 Location: Tier 3 Military, Helicopter Crashes and Convoys

The SCR16, also called the SCAR Light, uses 5.56×45mm ammunition and can appear in three important military loot categories:

  • Tier 3 military installations.
  • Helicopter crash sites.
  • Military convoy events.

It supports compatible NATO-style optics, 5.56 rifle magazines, and suppressor attachments.

That compatibility is one of its strongest advantages. You are not dependent on finding a magazine exclusive to one rare rifle at a single remote location.

The SCR16 uses 5.56×45mm ammunition and supports compatible rifle attachments.

The weapon itself is scarce. Nasdara’s normal loot configuration allows up to four SCR16 rifles in the active loot pool, even though compatible magazines are more widely available.

This means finding the correct military loot category improves your chances, but does not ensure a rifle will be waiting.

Start with the opportunity you can actually reach.

A nearby Tier 3 military installation offers a defined area to search, although it may be contested by other players.

Helicopter crashes and convoys provide additional opportunities, but they are dynamic. Their presence and remaining loot cannot be assumed from an earlier visit.

A crash site that appears near your current route may justify a detour. Travelling several kilometres toward a previously reported event is much less attractive when the location could already be empty.

After obtaining an SCR16, check magazine compatibility and ammunition before deciding whether to replace your current firearm. If you already have a functioning 5.56 rifle, the decision may come down to condition, attachments, and personal preference rather than an immediate need to switch.

MP-18: Where to Find the 32-Round Drum Magazine

The MP-18 offers a way to obtain a submachine gun without relying on military installations.

It appears in Tier 3 civilian towns, villages, and farming areas, making those settlements worthwhile places to search even when you are not heading toward a military base.

The weapon uses 9×19mm ammunition and a distinctive 32-round drum magazine.

The MP-18 appears in Tier 3 civilian loot areas. It uses 9×19mm ammunition and a separate 32-round drum magazine.

The magazine can appear in the same loot categories as the gun, but finding one does not mean the other will be in the nearest building.

The standard Nasdara economy allows up to 35 MP-18s and 38 matching magazines. Those relatively broad limits make it a more practical target than a rifle with only a handful of possible active spawns.

Its main role is close-range fighting, where manageable recoil and repeated shots are useful. The 9mm ammunition also gives it a different supply requirement from your primary rifle.

MP-18 or Lee Enfield?

Both can appear during civilian and rural exploration, but they are suited to different engagements.

Choose the MP-18 when you expect close-range fighting around houses, narrow streets, or other confined areas.

Choose the Lee Enfield when you want a rifle for more deliberate shots and can work within its bolt-action and sight limitations.

Carrying both is possible when inventory space permits. Otherwise, magazine and ammunition availability should influence the decision.

Finding an MP-18 without its drum magazine is not necessarily an upgrade over an Enfield you can already use effectively.

SCR-17 Location: Nasdara’s Toxic Tunnel

The SCR-17, also known as the SCAR Heavy, is not the same weapon as the SCR16.

The important compatibility differences are:

  • SCR16: 5.56×45mm ammunition and compatible 5.56 rifle magazines.
  • SCR-17: .308 WIN ammunition and its own 20-round magazine.

Do not assume that a magazine or ammunition supply suitable for the SCR16 will work in the SCR-17.

The SCR-17’s designated Nasdara loot area is the contaminated underground tunnel.

Under the normal loot configuration, that area can contain up to two SCR-17 rifles and four matching magazines in its loot pool.

Finding the weapon requires preparation for a contaminated environment rather than an ordinary military-building search. A complete protective outfit and working respiratory protection are necessary for entering safely.

For the entrance, NBC equipment, underground junctions, filter management, and return route, follow the Toxic Zone instructions.

Is the SCR-17 Worth Pursuing?

The rifle is a valuable high-tier objective, but reaching its designated area requires more preparation than searching a conventional military site.

A player who has already assembled the necessary protection may reasonably search the tunnel for its military loot.

For somebody lacking protective equipment, the safer option is to continue improving their loadout elsewhere rather than risk entering an area they cannot survive.

Even after obtaining the SCR-17, compatible ammunition and a usable magazine remain necessary to make it practical.

The tunnel’s limited loot pool also means the rifle is not guaranteed to be present when you arrive.

Luger Location: Tier 1–2 Military Areas

The Luger is a useful early sidearm for players searching lower-tier military locations.

It appears in Tier 1 and Tier 2 military loot areas, making it accessible before you are prepared to visit more dangerous high-tier destinations.

Its basic equipment requirements are simple:

  • Ammunition: 9×19mm.
  • Magazine: 8 rounds.
  • Attachments: No compatible suppressor or other weapon attachments.

The pistol and its magazine share the same general loot categories.

Under Nasdara’s normal loot settings, the active economy can contain up to 55 Lugers and 75 magazines.

The Luger does not offer the magazine capacity of the MP-18 or the reach of a rifle. Nevertheless, a loaded pistol can be useful when a newly spawned character has not yet found a primary weapon.

The lack of attachment options is worth considering before keeping it as your long-term sidearm.

If you find the pistol but no magazine, check nearby lower-tier military loot rather than assuming another type of 9mm magazine will fit.

Why Isn’t the Weapon Spawning?

Reaching the correct location does not guarantee that the item will be present.

Before spending more time searching, identify which problem you are dealing with.

1. The building is in the wrong loot category.

Tier 3 civilian areas can contain the MP-18, but that does not make them SCR16 military spawns. Likewise, the Lee Enfield’s rural distribution is different from the Luger’s lower-tier military distribution.

2. Another survivor may have taken the weapon.

This matters especially for the Golden KA-M, SCR16, SCR-17, and rare wooden VSD. Restricted loot availability means a valid spawn location can be empty.

3. You found the magazine, not the rifle.

Weapons and magazines have separate loot availability. A Golden KA-M drum or Lee Enfield magazine does not guarantee the matching firearm will be nearby.

4. You are looking for a location-specific weapon in a general loot area.

The Golden KA-M is associated with Kala Iloo Outpost. The SCR-17’s contaminated-tunnel loot is different from searching ordinary civilian buildings.

5. The server uses different loot settings.

Community servers can modify spawn quantities, distribution, and replenishment. The figures above describe Nasdara’s normal loot configuration rather than a guarantee for every modified server.

When a rare item is missing, repeatedly searching the same cleared building offers little immediate benefit.

For weapons with broader loot categories, move to another valid location. For restricted variants, consider returning later rather than spending the rest of your supplies waiting at an empty spawn.

Which Weapon Should You Look For Next?

Your best next destination depends on what you already carry.

Early in a run, lower-tier military sites and rural settlements give you opportunities to find a Luger or Lee Enfield without travelling to Nasdara’s most dangerous areas.

Tier 3 civilian settlements make the MP-18 a practical next objective, especially when you need close-range firepower.

With better equipment, Tier 3 military locations, helicopter crashes, and convoys offer opportunities to find the SCR16.

The SCR-17 requires preparation for the contaminated tunnel, while the Golden KA-M and wooden VSD justify a more specialized journey toward Kala Iloo.

Before leaving for any of those destinations, check the ammunition, magazines, and equipment you already have. A functioning firearm that suits your current journey may be worth keeping until you find everything needed to use its replacement.
