L'Arca: The Petrified Village

"A town frozen in time. Statues of people and animals litter the streets, trapped in endless stone slumber. To break the curse, you must time-hop for the cure, then descend into the Grotta del Sigillo and confront the artist behind this masterpiece."

Map Legend (How This Page Labels Key Spots)

SP — Secret Passage / hidden stairs
AT — Angel’s Tears usage point
F# — Fragment pickup
S# — Stairs (Grotta)
D# — Danger room (high ambush / heavy damage enemies)
B — Boss door / arena

These labels let you write shorter, more precise routes and make your guide feel like a tool instead of a wall of text.

🗿

Routes: Safe Clear vs Speedrun (Any%)

Route A — Safe Clear Low reset risk
  1. Past L'Arca: find the survivor in the NE house → uncover SP under the barrel.
  2. Return to Present ruins: obtain Angel's Tears (keep it in inventory).
  3. Back to Past: climb to the Inn roof and use Tears at AT (high elevation only).
  4. After town restores: restock if needed, then head north to Grotta del Sigillo.

Best if you're under-leveled or learning the zone. Slightly longer, much more forgiving.

Route B — Speedrun (Any%) Fast path
  1. Past: beeline to survivor → barrel → SP stairs. Ignore non-essential houses.
  2. Present ruins: grab Angel's Tears only (skip extra exploration unless you need healing).
  3. Past: straight to Inn roof → use Tears at AT → immediately exit north to Grotta.
  4. Grotta: follow the “Stairs Chain” to Level 6 → boss.

Time save comes from skipping town checks. Biggest fail-state: trying to use Tears from ground level (see LA-ERR-001).

1 The Silent Village (Past)

L'Arca (Past) is a living snapshot of panic: villagers frozen mid-motion, animals locked in place, and an eerie silence that makes every footstep feel wrong. Your first goal is to locate the sole survivor and learn how the curse started.

Go to the Mayor's House (NE). Break crates until you find the old man hiding. He explains there is a hidden route (label it SP) that lets you bypass the “statue town” dead-end and pursue the source of the curse.

📜 Lore Note: The Grey Rain

The villagers mention a "Grey Rain" shortly before the petrification. Treat it as a recurring curse motif: unnatural weather that marks a timeline as “contaminated.”

2 Breaking the Stone Curse (Angel's Tears)

The key twist of L'Arca is that the cure is found in the Present, but must be used in the Past. You are looking for Angel's Tears, and it only works at a specific elevation point.

  1. Present Ruins: return to the Shrine, sail to Present Day L'Arca, and locate the Angel's Tears vial.
  2. Back to Past: return to the petrified village with the vial still in inventory.
  3. Elevation Check: go to the Inn roof — this is the usage point (AT).
  4. Use Item: open inventory → Use Angel's Tears → cutscene triggers → village restores.

⚖️ Player Decision: When to Enter Grotta del Sigillo

After you restore the village, you can either rush the cave immediately or do a quick stabilization pass. This choice determines your wipe risk inside Grotta.

Option A: Immediate Grotta Rush
  • Upside: fastest chapter clear, fewer town detours.
  • Downside: higher chance you enter under-supplied and get forced into heals early.
  • Best for: speedrun / confident players.
Option B: Stabilize (1–2 Minutes)
  • Upside: restock herbs and reduce wipe risk in deep floors.
  • Downside: adds small time cost.
  • Best for: first clears, low-level parties.

3 Grotta del Sigillo: Floor-by-Floor Pathing

This cave is where players lose time: multiple branches, repeated encounters, and easy-to-miss stair transitions. Use this as a routing script — focus on reaching the next S# quickly unless you are fragment hunting.

Safe Pathing Rule

If you enter a branch that feels “too long” without stairs, backtrack. In this dungeon, most reward rooms are bait. Prioritize S# stairs and save exploration for Present-day fragment routes.

Speedrun Rule

Use “Stairs Chain”: move from S1 → S2 → S3 without stopping for side rooms. Detour only if you are collecting the two Present-day Reds (F2/F3).

  • Level 1 Locate S1 quickly. If you are fragment hunting in the Present, mark the NW corner as F2 (Red).
  • Level 2 Push toward S2. In the Present, the “west of stairs” pickup is F3 (Red).
  • Levels 3–5 Treat long hallways + dead-end rooms as D# danger zones (wasted fights). Stay on the stairs chain.
  • Level 6 Follow the final corridor to B. Heal and prep before entering the boss arena.

4 Boss: Hackrobat (Grotta del Sigillo)

Hackrobat is a physical pressure boss with punishing single-target spikes. The fight is simple once you define roles: keep one character stable enough to survive a burst, and avoid falling behind on heals.

Enemy Data Log Boss: Hackrobat
Archetype Physical / Debuff
Danger Move Boulder Toss (High physical damage to one)
Strategy Key Stabilize + Buff Defense (Buff / Kabuff if available)

Boss Logic (Simple Rules)

  • Open safe: if you have a defense buff, cast it early; otherwise heal conservatively and avoid greed.
  • Respect single-target spikes: keep your lowest-HP member above “burst range” before attacking.
  • Win condition: don’t fall behind on healing — this boss doesn’t require fancy tech, just stability.

If you want an “always works” assignment: Kiefer = consistent damage, Hero = flex (heal/attack), Maribel = primary support.

5 Present Day L'Arca: Fragment Route (4/4)

After you complete the Past timeline and defeat Hackrobat, return to the Present. This region's completion is heavily fragment-driven: one Yellow in town + two Reds in the Present Grotta + one Past reward fragment.

F1 — Past Boss Reward

Fragment awarded after defeating Hackrobat in the Past. (Verify your shard ID mapping matches your DB.)

F4 — Yellow Fragment (Present Town)

Mayor's House (NE) in Present L'Arca.

F2 — Red Fragment (Present Grotta, Level 1)

NW corner of Level 1 in Present Grotta del Sigillo.

F3 — Red Fragment (Present Grotta, Level 2)

West of the stairs on Level 2 in Present Grotta del Sigillo.

⚠️ Troubleshooting & Softlock Database

LA-ERR-001 — “I can’t use Angel’s Tears.”

Jump to Checklist

Symptom: the Use command does nothing / no cutscene triggers.
Cause: you are not at the required elevation point.
Fix: go to the Inn → climb to the roof (AT) → use Angel’s Tears there.
Prevention: don’t attempt it at street level.

LA-ERR-002 — “Where is the secret passage?”

Symptom: you found the survivor but can’t progress / no stairs visible.
Cause: the stairs are hidden under an interactable object.
Fix: in the survivor’s house (Past), interact with / move the barrel to reveal SP stairs.

LA-ERR-003 — “I restored the Past, but Present looks unchanged.”

Symptom: you expect the Present town instantly changes but you still see ruins.
Cause: you haven’t exited and reloaded the timeline properly, or missed a required boss/flag.
Fix: return to the Shrine → re-enter the Present pillar → re-enter L’Arca; then confirm fragment pickups.
