Sort Them Ducks Achievement Guide

How I Get All 20 Achievements

I clear the easy sorting achievements naturally, then plan the eggs, 15-duck collect, slot machine, sub-4-hour run, and no-ability finish separately.

Updated:

How I Get All 20 Achievements

Quick Answer

There are 20 achievements in Sort Them Ducks.

I let most of the sorting milestones unlock naturally, but I deliberately plan these before finishing a 100% run:

  • collect all 10 eggs;
  • press the cash register 10 times for Sticky Fingers;
  • build enough inventory for a 15-duck Auto Collect;
  • finish the direct upgrade board for Maxed Out;
  • keep spending at the slot machine until its upgrade pool is exhausted;
  • use Find Duck enough times for Duck Whisperer;
  • decide what I want to copy after completing the shop;
  • and treat the under-four-hour and no-active-ability achievements as challenge runs rather than normal cleanup.

The two achievements I would not casually combine are No Time to Waddle and I Don’t Do Buttons. My fast route relies heavily on abilities, while the second achievement specifically asks me not to use them.

Most of my first achievements arrived without any planning.

I placed my first correct duck, earned money, made mistakes, sorted 100 ducks, and eventually reached 1,000.

The achievement cleanup only became important after I understood the store.

That is when I stopped treating the list as 20 separate chores.

I split it into three groups:

normal progression

one-time cleanup achievements

challenge-run achievements

That kept me from ruining a fast run because I suddenly decided to hunt eggs or press the cash register.

I Don’t Do ButtonsFinish without pressing an active ability

I do not spend time farming First Quack, Bills, Getting Organized, Quack Pack Leader, or Category Complete.

A normal full clear gives me plenty of opportunities for all five.

The ones below are where I actually change how I play.

I Get What the Duck?! and Slippery Little Duck Early

These are easiest while the shop is still messy.

For What the Duck?!, I deliberately test wrong shelves until I reach 10 misplaced ducks.

I do this early because wrong placements are already part of learning the store.

Later, when I know every category, deliberately making ten mistakes feels like wasted movement.

Slippery Little Duck is even easier to control.

I choose one duck I already know how to place, drop that same duck five times, then finally put it on the correct shelf.

I do not use an uncertain duck.

The whole point is making sure the fifth drop is followed by a correct placement rather than another category test.

Category Complete Is My First Real Progress Check

A category becomes much more useful to me once one full named set is finished.

Category Complete achievement after fully stocking a shelf category in Sort Them Ducks
I do not farm Category Complete separately. I keep one easy category moving until the full shelf set finishes and the achievement follows naturally.

I usually get this simply by staying consistent with one part of the store instead of spreading every duck across all 19 categories.

Once a category is nearly full, I finish it before walking away.

That gives me cleaner floor space and the achievement at the same time.

Sticky Fingers Takes 10 Cash Register Presses

This one is easy to miss because the register looks like background furniture.

The hidden requirement is:

press the cash register 10 times

and it pays out $20.

Cash register used for the Sticky Fingers achievement in Sort Them Ducks
I knock Sticky Fingers out while I am already near the register: ten presses, then I go straight back to sorting.

I do it during a normal run rather than saving it for the end.

There is no reason to make a separate cleanup trip for something that takes only a few seconds when I am already passing the register.

The $20 is also more useful early than after I have maxed most of the upgrade board.

Efficiency Expert Needs More Than Just Auto Collect

The requirement is:

Collect 15 ducks with one Collect Ducks ability use.

Buying Auto Collect is only the first half.

My inventory also needs enough free capacity.

Auto Collect pulling matching ducks into the inventory in Sort Them Ducks
For Efficiency Expert I save a dense group instead of activating Auto Collect on a nearly finished set.

I do not attempt this with a tiny early inventory.

I first push Bigger Inventory beyond the point where a single use can realistically pull 15 new ducks without hitting the cap.

Then I find a type with a lot of copies still sitting close together.

My setup is:

large inventory

one known duck in hand

stand beside a dense pile of matching copies

activate Collect Ducks once

I avoid a nearly completed category.

If only six matching ducks remain on the floor, the ability cannot magically turn that into 15.

This is one reason I do not finish every large duplicate group immediately. Once I have the ability and enough inventory space, one dense group becomes an easy Efficiency Expert setup.

The same inventory and ability combination is useful throughout the run, so I normally build toward it through the Best Upgrades route instead of changing my whole build just for this achievement.

Egg-cellent Timing Is a Separate 10-Egg Cleanup

There are 10 hidden eggs around the shop.

Collecting all ten hatches the special duck and unlocks Egg-cellent Timing.

I do not mix a serious egg search into the first hour of sorting.

Early in the run, shelves and floor piles block too much of my view.

Later, after several thousand ducks have moved onto shelves, gaps around furniture, shelf edges, the office, lamps, and high surfaces become much easier to inspect.

Collecting the tenth egg and hatching the special duck in Sort Them Ducks
I save the serious egg sweep for later, when the floor is cleaner. The tenth egg finishes the set and gives me the special duck.

The last few are the ones that actually cost me time.

I found myself checking:

  • between shelf sections;
  • around the office;
  • near furniture;
  • inside or around lamps;
  • and above normal eye level.

I keep the exact ten locations in the Egg Locations guide rather than duplicating the route here.

For achievements, the important part is timing:

I collect obvious eggs as I see them, then do one deliberate 10/10 sweep late in the run.

Boooooooooom!!! Is the Bomb Achievement

The achievement description only gives me:

Get Boomed.

Bombs appear among the ducks and can violently scatter a section of the floor.

Bomb exploding among ducks in Sort Them Ducks
I handle Boooooooooom!!! while bombs are still easy to find. I stay involved in the blast instead of throwing every bomb safely away.

If I am trying to trigger this deliberately, I do not throw the bomb across the store and immediately run away.

I stay close enough to actually be caught up in the event.

Afterward I clean the scattered ducks and move on.

I also prefer doing this before my store is beautifully organized.

A bomb near the end can undo a lot of visual cleanup and make the final missing duck search more annoying.

Maxed Out and Jackpot! Are Two Different Upgrade Jobs

I treat these separately.

Maxed Out asks me to fully upgrade the normal upgrade board.

That includes the permanent and ability upgrades I buy directly.

Sort Them Ducks upgrade menu used for the Maxed Out achievement
Maxed Out is my direct-upgrade cleanup. I keep returning when I have spare cash until the available upgrade lines are finished.

The board includes purchases such as:

  • Bigger Inventory;
  • Stronger Throw;
  • Longer Reach;
  • Sprint;
  • Crouch;
  • matching-duck highlighting;
  • shelf highlighting;
  • Auto Shelves;
  • Auto Collect.

I do not confuse this with Jackpot!.

Jackpot is specifically about obtaining every upgrade from the slot machine.

Each slot-machine roll costs $100.

Slot machine upgrade pool fully exhausted for Jackpot in Sort Them Ducks
I know Jackpot cleanup is over when the slot machine upgrade pool is exhausted rather than when my normal upgrade board looks finished.

This is why I wait before feeding the machine early money.

I finish the direct purchases that support the run before I start gambling away every spare dollar.

Once that direct build is working, I start turning spare $100 chunks into slot-machine rolls.

Some of those rewards improve abilities I already use.

For example, I can get Collect Ducks cooldown reductions.

Collect Ducks cooldown reduced by a slot machine upgrade in Sort Them Ducks
Slot-machine rewards can improve abilities I already rely on, so I keep rolling once my guaranteed upgrade priorities are covered.

I keep going until that separate upgrade pool is finished.

Duck Whisperer Is Easier If I Start Using Find Duck Before Endgame

Duck Whisperer requires 50 Find Duck uses.

This is exactly the sort of achievement I do not want to discover after the shop is already empty.

Find Duck has legitimate uses throughout the run.

When I have one copy of a duck in hand and want to clear the rest of that set, I use it.

When a category is almost complete, I use it again.

When the final hundred ducks become difficult to see, it becomes even more useful.

That lets the counter rise naturally toward 50.

If I wait until Master Sorter cleanup, I may end up standing around firing an ability purely for the achievement.

Master Sorter Is the Full-Shop Finish

Master Sorter is simple to describe and much harder to execute:

Correctly sort every duck in the shop.

Near the end, this stops being about raw sorting speed.

It becomes a troubleshooting problem.

Completing the full Sort Them Ducks shop for Master Sorter
Master Sorter is the point where the full-shop cleanup finally resolves and the Employee of the Month ending sequence begins.

I check incomplete categories first, then hunt the exact missing type instead of searching the entire store at random.

If colored tower ducks remain, I verify the tower arrangement.

If a normal category still refuses to complete, I inspect what is already on that shelf.

That final troubleshooting route belongs in the Missing Duck guide.

For this achievement, I only care about the end state:

every required duck correctly resolved

Master Sorter

completion sequence

Nice Choice Happens After the Shop Is Finished

After completing the shop, the boss gives me a post-completion choice.

I bring over my favorite duck and use the copier.

That unlocks Nice Choice.

Choosing and copying a favorite duck after completing Sort Them Ducks
After the main sorting job is finished, I bring the duck I want to the copier and confirm the copy for Nice Choice.

This is not something I need to search the shop for early.

It belongs after Master Sorter.

The copier can create an enormous number of copies at once; I have used the 2,000-copy option and watched the room immediately fill with the chosen duck.

That matters for two other hidden achievements.

I Plan the 2,000-Copy Achievements Before Confirming My Favorite

Two hidden achievements ask for extreme post-completion setups:

Ohhhh, Maaaan

→ end up with 2,000 copies of Mr. Duck

and

Send Help

→ end up with 2,000 giant ducks and fill the room.

The postgame copier is the obvious place I prepare for these because it has a 2,000-copy option.

Using the postgame copier to create 2000 copies of a duck in Sort Them Ducks
The 2,000-copy option changes the room instantly. I decide whether I am chasing a specific hidden copy achievement before confirming the duck I want to duplicate.

I do not casually confirm a random favorite if this run is meant for achievement cleanup.

I decide first whether I want:

Mr. Duck

the giant duck

or simply the duck I personally want for Nice Choice.

I also do not assume I can freely undo that choice afterward.

For a clean achievement run, I make that decision before pressing the huge copy option.

No Time to Waddle Is the Run I Actually Plan Around Speed

This is one of the real challenge achievements:

complete the game in under 4 hours.

In the achievement snapshot I checked, only 5.1% of players had it.

I do not attempt this by playing my normal completion route slightly faster.

I change the upgrade order.

The fast route I use starts:

earn $50

buy Sprint

save $100

buy Auto Shelves

save $150

buy Auto Collect

This is intentionally different from my normal first-clear upgrade order.

On a regular run, I usually value Auto Collect before Auto Shelves because I am still learning the store and repeated pickups are the more reliable bottleneck.

On a timed run, I already know where the shelves are.

That makes Auto Shelves valuable much earlier because every correct throw can replace the slower walk-up-and-place step.

Sprint cuts the travel time immediately.

Auto Shelves removes the slow manual placement once I know the destination.

Auto Collect then lets me process repeated ducks in batches.

For the normal progression build, I keep the full reasoning in my Best Upgrades guide rather than using the speedrun order as a universal recommendation.

From there, the biggest time loss is hesitation.

I do not stop to admire every design.

I do not search all ten eggs.

I do not experiment with the cash register.

I do not spend long periods testing a duck against five categories.

If I do not know a duck immediately, I park it in one controlled unresolved area and keep moving.

My priority is throughput:

known duck

known category

shelf

next batch

That is also why learning the shop layout on a normal run before trying the sub-four-hour achievement is so valuable.

I Don’t Do Buttons Gets Its Own Run

The rarest achievement in the list I checked was I Don’t Do Buttons, at 3.1%.

Its requirement is:

finish the game without pressing a single active ability.

I do not try to be clever with this one.

If the run is for I Don’t Do Buttons, I keep my hands off the active ability inputs from the beginning.

That means the route that makes No Time to Waddle comfortable is no longer my route.

I cannot depend on Find Duck or Collect Ducks to rescue the final cleanup.

So I compensate before the shop gets messy.

I sort known categories consistently.

I keep unresolved ducks in one controlled location.

I avoid bombing a nearly clean section.

I pay much more attention to where the last copies of a type are going.

And I use the shelf feedback instead of an active ability to solve uncertainty.

This run is slower, but it is also much safer than playing normally for three hours and then wondering whether I accidentally pressed an ability once.

My 100% Cleanup Order

For a normal achievement-focused clear, I use this order:

First: let the basic placement, money, mistake, 100-duck and 1,000-duck achievements unlock naturally.

Second: handle Sticky Fingers and the bomb while I am already near them.

Third: build the direct upgrades and prepare enough inventory for Efficiency Expert.

Fourth: collect the ten eggs once the floor is easier to inspect.

Fifth: keep using Find Duck during normal sorting instead of farming 50 uses at the very end.

Sixth: finish Maxed Out and spend spare $100 rolls toward Jackpot.

Seventh: resolve the final ducks and finish Master Sorter.

Eighth: make the post-completion copy choice deliberately.

Then I leave the two challenge clears for runs built around their actual rules:

under four hours

and

no active abilities.

That is much cleaner than trying to turn one casual first playthrough into every achievement at once.
