Pool of Piety: The Sacred Waters

"This chapter is a clean progression chain: Whirlpool → Coral Cave (B2 loot) → Sacred Stone altar → Divine Shrine → Green Fragment → Skystone. If you get stuck, you’re usually in the wrong timeline or skipped the altar trigger."

Speedrun Route: Whirlpool → Shrine → Skystone

Step 01 Find Whirlpool (Present)

Present timeline → sail north/northeast of Frobisher/Faraday → enter the whirlpool.

Step 02 Coral Cave B2 Detour

In Coral Cave → drop to B2 → grab Dragon Mail + secure the path to the objective.

Step 03 Sacred Stone → Altar Trigger

Obtain the Sacred Stone → use it at the altar to raise the platform and open the shrine route.

Step 04 Divine Shrine → Green Shard → Skystone

Divine Shrine (Present) → collect Green Fragment → complete shrine steps to obtain Skystone.

🧭 Phase 1: Locate the Whirlpool (Present)

This chapter starts on the world map. If you can’t see the whirlpool, you’re almost always in the wrong timeline.

Rule of thumb
Whirlpool = Present only.

World Map Check

Sail in open water north/northeast of Frobisher/Faraday. The whirlpool icon is distinct and acts as the entrance.

If you still can’t find it

Switch to Present and re-open the map. Some chapters won’t spawn the entrance until you’re on the correct timeline.

🧠 Decision Module: Coral Cave Routing

Treat Coral Cave as a “goal + one worthwhile detour” dungeon: grab B2 armor, then commit to the Sacred Stone + altar trigger.

Best detour
B2 = Dragon Mail.

Priority A: B2 Chest

Quick defense spike. Worth it even in speedrun routing.

Priority B: Sacred Stone

This is the chapter key. No stone → no shrine route.

Priority C: Altar Trigger

Using the stone at the correct altar is what opens the next segment.

2 Coral Cave: B2 Loot + Sacred Stone

Coral Cave is an underwater maze with one “don’t skip” chest and one “must do” trigger.

Loot Alert

Basement Level 2 (B2): Dragon Mail — strong defense + great timing for upcoming content.

Objective

Secure the Sacred Stone, then use it at the altar to raise the platform and open the shrine access.

Common trap: players pick up Sacred Stone but don’t “use” it at the altar trigger, then assume the game bugged.

3 Divine Shrine: Green Fragment (Present)

Once inside, do a quick sweep of the upper floors for dialogue + the fragment pickup.

  • Fragment pickup:
    You receive the Green Fragment here in the Present timeline.

4 Skystone: Flight Unlock Payoff

The Skystone is the real reason this chapter matters. It’s a mobility unlock that opens route options for upcoming regions.

Key Item: Skystone

Functions as your “flight” vehicle. Use it to reach high-altitude / blocked areas and push main progression.

Verify you actually obtained Sacred Stone first → interact with the correct altar trigger again.

Fix: Be in the Present. Sail north/northeast of Frobisher/Faraday; the whirlpool is visible on the world map.

“Sacred Stone did nothing.”

Fix: Use it at the correct altar/trigger. If needed, re-interact after picking up the stone.

I can’t find the whirlpool. Where is Coral Cave? Open
You must be in the Present timeline. Sail to the ocean north/northeast of the Frobisher/Faraday area; the whirlpool is visible on the world map and acts as the cave entrance.
Where is Dragon Mail in Coral Cave? Open
Dragon Mail is on Basement Level 2 (B2). If you’re rushing the objective, do a quick B2 detour before the Sacred Stone altar so you don’t need to backtrack later.
I used the Sacred Stone but the shrine path didn’t open. Open
Make sure you used it at the correct altar/trigger point. If nothing happens, re-check you actually picked up the Sacred Stone first, then interact with the altar again to complete the raise-platform sequence.
What’s the big reward of this chapter? Open
Two things: the Green Fragment in Divine Shrine (Present) and the Skystone flight unlock, which is essential for reaching higher/late-game regions.
