Best Pyrite Farming Locations
A practical LumenTale Pyrite farming guide showing which Pyrite upgrades which attack family, where to farm each type, when each route unlocks, and how to run each farm.
Updated:
Quick Answer
Farm Pyrite based on the attack you want to upgrade, not just the area you are standing in. Check the move’s attack family first, then pick the matching Pyrite farm. Early players should start with Common Pyrite and Flexible Pyrite. Mid-route players can add Tough, High-Tech, Electric, Aquatic, Corrosive, Blazing, and Frozen farms. Save Ancient Pyrite and Infernal Pyrite for later route progress because they need stronger traversal or puzzle access.
Pyrite Type to Attack Family
Before farming, check the move you want to upgrade. The Pyrite type usually follows the attack family or icon shown in the upgrade screen.
| Pyrite | Use it for… | When to farm it |
|---|---|---|
| Common Pyrite | Neutral / common attack upgrades | Early, when you are upgrading basic moves |
| Flexible Pyrite | Flexible / physical-style utility attack upgrades | Early, especially from Area 01 cave |
| Tough Pyrite | Tough / heavy / defensive-style attack upgrades | Early-mid, once Area 03 cave is accessible |
| High-Tech Pyrite | High-Tech / Data / machine-style attack upgrades | Mid-route, especially around Area 16 |
| Aquatic Pyrite | Aquatic / Water-style attack upgrades | Mid-route, especially around Area 18 and Biome Plains |
| Corrosive Pyrite | Corrosive / poison-like / Virus-style attack upgrades | Mid-late, especially around Area 19 |
| Electric Pyrite | Electric attack upgrades | Mid-route, especially in Voltar |
| Blazing Pyrite | Fire / Blazing attack upgrades | Mid-route, especially where Rush Hogs appear in Area 08 |
| Frozen Pyrite | Ice / Frozen attack upgrades | Mid-late, especially where Rush Hogs appear in Area 18 |
| Infernal Pyrite | Demon / Infernal attack upgrades | Late, once Area 21 cave routing is available |
| Ancient Pyrite | Ancient attack upgrades | Late, especially Area 14 with Brickles |
Best Pyrite Farms Overview
Use this table as the main farming planner.
| Pyrite | Best farm | Enemy | Unlock timing | Route / power needed | Efficiency note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Flexible Pyrite | Area 01 cave | Sapse | Early | Electric + Water Holoken inside cave route | Strong early farm and easy to revisit |
| Tough Pyrite | Area 03 cave | Melodica | Early-mid | Area 03 cave access | Simple cave farm once the route is open |
| Common Pyrite | Scarlet Woods | Smellwing | Early | No special power needed | Best for basic upgrade stock |
| High-Tech Pyrite | Area 16 | Chumpus | Mid | Area 16 route access | Good tech-route farm |
| Aquatic Pyrite | Area 18 / Biome Plains | Lampants | Mid-late | Virus Holoken teleporter route | Strong Water-style farm, but easy to get lost without the map |
| Corrosive Pyrite | Area 19 | Croccobits | Mid-late | Area 19 route access | Good for corrosive / poison-like moves |
| Electric Pyrite | Voltar / Bobble Tunnel | Shotpads | Mid | Voltar access | Efficient if you are already in the city route |
| Blazing Pyrite | Area 08 | Rush Hogs | Mid | Area 08 route access | Fast if Rush Hogs refresh quickly |
| Frozen Pyrite | Area 18 | Rush Hogs | Mid-late | Area 18 route access | Same enemy family, different area drop context |
| Infernal Pyrite | Area 21 cave | Quitbowls | Late | Virus + Electric Holoken puzzle route | Slower route, but reliable once unlocked |
| Ancient Pyrite | Area 14 | Brickles | Late | Anomalous Holoken access | Strong late farm, but traversal-gated |
Bonus Drops While Farming
Some Pyrite routes also give useful side materials while you farm, such as fur, charms, food materials, or other crafting items. Treat these as a bonus, not the main reason to choose a route.
If you are farming for a specific build, prioritize the Pyrite type first. Bonus drops are only worth considering when two routes are equally convenient.
Flexible Pyrite: Area 01 Cave / Sapse
Flexible Pyrite is one of the best early materials to farm because the Area 01 cave can be reached early and revisited later.
Route notes:
- Enter the Area 01 cave.
- Bring Electric and Water Holoken access.
- Push through the cave route until you reach the Sapse spawn area.
- Fight Sapse repeatedly for Flexible Pyrite.
- Leave and refresh the route if the local encounter loop slows down.
This farm is also useful because the same cave routing knowledge helps later when you come back for other Area 01 cave objectives.
Tough Pyrite: Area 03 Cave / Melodica
Tough Pyrite is a good early-mid material once you can move through Area 03 cave.
Route notes:
- Go to Area 03 cave.
- Use the cave map to reach the Melodica encounter area.
- Fight Melodica until you have enough Tough Pyrite.
- Refresh the local cave loop instead of wandering into unrelated encounters.
This is a good farm once you are past the first route areas but not ready for late Holoken-gated farms.
Common Pyrite: Scarlet Woods / Smellwing
Common Pyrite is the safest basic upgrade material farm.
Route notes:
- Go to Scarlet Woods.
- Stay near the Smellwing encounter route.
- Use short encounter loops rather than pushing deep into unrelated routes.
- Farm enough Common Pyrite for basic move upgrades, then stop.
Common Pyrite is useful early, but do not overfarm it if your main team starts needing specialized attack upgrades.
High-Tech Pyrite: Area 16 / Chumpus
High-Tech Pyrite is a mid-route material for tech-style move upgrades.
Route notes:
- Reach Area 16.
- Use the central route and side paths to find Chumpus encounters.
- Farm Chumpus when you need High-Tech Pyrite.
- If the local loop becomes slow, leave and re-enter the area to reset your route flow.
Use this farm for Data, device, machine, or technology-style attack upgrades.
Aquatic Pyrite: Area 18 / Biome Plains / Lampants
Aquatic Pyrite is the material to look for when you are upgrading Water-style or aquatic attacks.
Route notes:
- Go to Area 18 / Biome Plains.
- Use Virus Holoken to raise or activate the teleporter route.
- Use the teleporter to reach the Lampants farming side.
- Farm Lampants for Aquatic Pyrite.
- Use the route map carefully because this area is easy to misread once the teleporter is active.
Corrosive Pyrite: Area 19 / Croccobits
Corrosive Pyrite supports corrosive, poison-like, or Virus-style upgrade paths.
Route notes:
- Reach Area 19.
- Bring Aura Holoken access if the gate on your route is still closed.
- Move toward the watery / toxic-looking section where Croccobits appear.
- Croccobits can be awkward to hit while they are in the water, so use AoE attacks when possible.
- Keep your loop short; do not chase every side encounter if you only need Corrosive Pyrite.
This is a better farm once your route access is wide enough to revisit Area 19 efficiently.
Electric Pyrite: Voltar / Shotpads
Electric Pyrite is one of the clearer route farms because Voltar naturally fits Electric and tech-side progression.
Route notes:
- Go to Voltar.
- Move toward the Bobble Tunnel route.
- Target Shotpads encounters around the city / tunnel path.
- Farm Electric Pyrite while you are already doing Voltar route cleanup.
Use this farm for Electric attack upgrades and for builds that rely on Electric coverage.
Blazing Pyrite: Area 08 / Rush Hogs
Blazing Pyrite is tied to Rush Hogs in Area 08.
Route notes:
- Go to Area 08.
- Find the Rush Hogs encounter loop.
- Farm Rush Hogs for Blazing Pyrite.
- Refresh the local route if encounters slow down.
This is one of the better farms if the local Rush Hogs are easy to refresh.
Frozen Pyrite: Area 18 / Rush Hogs
Frozen Pyrite is also tied to Rush Hogs, but in a different route context.
Route notes:
- Go to Area 18.
- Use the local route to reach Rush Hogs encounters.
- Farm Rush Hogs in this area for Frozen Pyrite.
- Do not confuse this with the Area 08 Rush Hogs farm.
Infernal Pyrite: Area 21 Cave / Quitbowls
Infernal Pyrite is a late-route farm. It is worth doing when you need Demon / Infernal-style upgrades, but it is not a good early farming target because the route takes setup.
Route notes:
- Go to the Area 21 cave.
- Bring Virus Holoken and Electric Holoken access.
- Use Virus Holoken where the cave route requires it.
- Clear the Electric-gated section.
- Solve the small cave puzzle route.
- Reach the Quitbowls encounter area.
- Farm Quitbowls for Infernal Pyrite.
Ancient Pyrite: Area 14 / Brickles
Ancient Pyrite is one of the most important late upgrade materials, but it is gated behind later traversal.
Route notes:
- Reach Area 14.
- Bring Anomalous Holoken access.
- Use the Holoken route to reach the Brickles farming area.
- Farm Brickles for Ancient Pyrite.
- Leave once you have enough for your planned Ancient upgrades.
Ancient Pyrite is valuable, but do not force this route before you have the traversal tools.
How to Farm Pyrite Faster
Use these rules to make every Pyrite farm less painful:
| Rule | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Farm the exact enemy | Pyrite drops are tied to specific enemy and area context |
| Use the right area | The same enemy family may drop different materials in different areas |
| Bring the required Holoken | Some farms are useless if you cannot clear the route |
| Refresh short routes | Faster encounters beat long puzzle loops |
| Stop once you have enough | Pyrite is useful, but overfarming the wrong type wastes time |
Quick Material Lookup
Use this if you already know the Pyrite you need.

Common Mistakes
Farming Before Checking the Move
Do not farm blindly. Check the move upgrade screen first, then match the Pyrite family.
Going to the Right Enemy in the Wrong Area
Some enemy families appear in multiple areas. Farm the specific area tied to the Pyrite you need.
Forcing Late Farms Too Early
Ancient and Infernal farms are not worth forcing if your route tools are not ready.
Ignoring Holoken Requirements
If a farm needs a Holoken power, bring the right Animon before you travel there.
Overfarming One Pyrite Type
A pile of Electric Pyrite does not help if your final team needs Aquatic, Ancient, or Corrosive upgrades.

FAQ
What is Pyrite used for in LumenTale? +
Pyrite is used to upgrade attacks. Each Pyrite type is tied to a specific attack family, so check the move you want to upgrade before farming.
Where is the best early Pyrite farm? +
Area 01 cave is one of the best early farms because Sapse can drop Flexible Pyrite and the route is available early compared with later Holoken-gated farms.
Where do you farm Ancient Pyrite? +
Ancient Pyrite can be farmed from Brickles in Area 14, but this is a later farm because the route needs Anomalous Holoken access.
Where do you farm Electric Pyrite? +
Electric Pyrite can be farmed in Voltar from Shotpads around the Bobble Tunnel route.
Where do you farm Infernal Pyrite? +
Infernal Pyrite is a late-route farm in the Area 21 cave route. Bring Virus and Electric Holoken access and farm Quitbowls after clearing the cave puzzle route.
Do the same enemies always drop the same Pyrite? +
Not always. Rush Hogs are a good example: they can be tied to different Pyrite farms depending on the area, such as Blazing Pyrite in Area 08 and Frozen Pyrite in Area 18.
