How to Get Degree 100 Paragons in BTD6 Update 57

Quick Answer

Build the three required Tier 5 towers for your chosen Paragon. Accumulate qualifying damage or income with that tower family, then prepare enough money for the Cash Slider before combining them. In Update 57, extra upgrade tiers no longer contribute Paragon Power.

Degree 100 requires 200,000 Paragon Power, but Update 57 changed how players can reach that total. A solo Paragon can now obtain enough Power through damage, qualifying income, and cash contributions without placing Geraldo’s Paragon Power Totems.

This also makes an old preparation method much less useful. Filling the map with additional towers and buying hundreds of upgrade tiers no longer guarantees a higher Degree. Those towers must contribute damage, eligible income, or sacrificed cash value to improve the result.

The difficult part is deciding when those contributions are sufficient. A full Cash Slider cannot compensate for unlimited missing damage, and a tower family with millions of damage may still need substantial cash before the purchase reaches Degree 100.

How Much Paragon Power Is Needed for Degree 100?

Update 57 raised the two main contribution limits while removing Power from extra non-Tier-5 upgrade tiers.

  • Degree 100 requirement: 200,000 Power.
  • Damage and qualifying income: up to 125,000 Power.
  • Cash contribution: up to 80,000 Power.
  • Extra upgrade tiers: 0 Power.

Damage/income and cash can provide 205,000 Power combined, which is more than the Degree 100 requirement. This gives you some flexibility: neither category has to be completely filled if the other contributes enough.

You still need the three Tier 5 towers required to create your chosen Paragon. Those towers are part of the purchase requirement, not an alternative to accumulating Power.

There is also a separate contribution for qualifying extra Tier 5 towers beyond the three required paths. Each additional Tier 5 contributes 6,000 Power, with that category capped at 50,000. Extra Tier 5s can be useful in Co-op, while certain solo exceptions, such as Dart Monkey’s Master Double Cross, can also provide an additional Tier 5.

For most solo attempts, the simplest preparation is to build the required Tier 5s and concentrate on damage, income, and cash.

How Much Damage or Income Do You Need?

Every 180 damage dealt by eligible towers contributes 1 Power.

Qualifying cash generated by those towers also counts toward the same category, at $45 generated per Power.

The calculation is:

Damage/Income Power = Damage ÷ 180 + Qualifying Income ÷ 45

The combined contribution cannot exceed 125,000 Power.

Two damage thresholds are particularly useful when preparing a Degree 100 purchase:

  • 21,600,000 damage: supplies 120,000 Power, enough for Degree 100 when cash contributes the full 80,000 Power.
  • 22,500,000 damage: fills the entire 125,000-Power damage/income category. You then need only 75,000 cash Power to reach Degree 100.

These values assume no qualifying income is contributing to the same category.

How Much Can Income Replace Damage?

Income lets eligible farming towers help raise the Paragon Degree without needing to deal all the damage themselves.

For example, suppose one tower family has accumulated:

  • 18,000,000 damage
  • $900,000 qualifying generated income

The damage contributes 100,000 Power, while the generated income contributes another 20,000 Power.

That gives the family 120,000 damage/income Power, enough to reach Degree 100 if the cash contribution supplies the remaining 80,000.

This is useful for families such as Sniper Monkey, where Supply Drop Snipers can generate income while other Snipers contribute damage.

The important detail is that income and damage share one cap. Once their combined contribution reaches 125,000 Power, further farming or damage will not increase that category.

If your towers already have enough qualifying damage and income, continuing the run solely to raise those statistics will not improve the Paragon Degree.

How Much Cash Do You Need for Degree 100?

Update 57 increased the maximum cash contribution to 80,000 Power.

Cash Power comes from eligible money spent on absorbed towers and additional cash invested through the Paragon purchase slider. The three required Tier 5 towers do not count toward ordinary sacrificed-cash Power, but qualifying lower-tier towers do, using their actual purchase costs after discounts.

Manual Sacrifices vs. the Cash Slider

To fill the 80,000-Power cash category, eligible sacrificed towers must cost 4 times the Paragon’s base upgrade price. Using only the Cash Slider requires 4.2 times the base price, including a 5% cost premium.

For S.P.I.D.E.R.:

  • Easy: $2,720,000 in eligible sacrifices or $2,856,000 through the slider.
  • Medium: $3,200,000 in eligible sacrifices or $3,360,000 through the slider.

Both methods contribute to the same 80,000-Power limit. If your absorbed Snipers already provide part of that contribution, you can spend less through the slider.

The slider is more convenient when you do not want to fill the map with extra Snipers, while eligible sacrifices are slightly more cash-efficient.

How Does the Cash Slider Work in Update 57?

The maximum additional slider payment is 4.2 times the Paragon’s base upgrade price.

This amount is paid on top of the regular Paragon purchase price.

For a $500,000 Paragon upgrade, the slider can therefore require as much as $2,100,000 in additional cash. Purchasing the Paragon with that full contribution costs $2,600,000 at the upgrade stage, before counting the money already spent on its three Tier 5 towers and any supporting defenses.

The slider and eligible tower sacrifices contribute toward the same 80,000-Power cash limit. If substantial cash has already been invested in absorbed towers, you may not need the maximum slider payment.

Sniper Paragon Easy-Mode Cash Example

The S.P.I.D.E.R. Sniper Paragon has a base upgrade price of $680,000 on Easy.

Its maximum direct slider contribution is calculated as:

$680,000 × 4.2 = $2,856,000

Adding the base upgrade price gives a combined purchase budget of approximately $3,536,000.

The actual purchase interface in this configuration displays $2,856,001 for the additional cash contribution and $3,536,001 as the confirmation price.

On Easy, the Sniper Paragon purchase screen shows $2,856,001 in additional cash and $3,536,001 as the final price. This does not include the three Tier 5 Snipers purchased earlier.

Do not carry this dollar amount directly into Medium, Hard, or Impoppable. The Paragon upgrade price changes with difficulty, so its maximum slider payment changes too.

Also, the full slider is a spending limit, not an instruction to always pay the maximum. If eligible absorbed towers have already supplied much of the cash Power, a smaller slider contribution can achieve the same Degree.

Why Do 250 Upgrade Tiers No Longer Raise Paragon Degree?

Before Update 57, purchasing upgrade tiers on additional towers contributed Paragon Power. Players could fill the map with cheaper towers and increase their Degree by buying large numbers of upgrades.

That contribution is now zero.

Buying another 0-4-2 or 2-0-4 tower does not award Power merely because it adds more purchased tiers.

Those towers can still improve the eventual Paragon through the contributions that remain active:

  • Damage dealt before the Paragon is created.
  • Qualifying income generated during the run.
  • Eligible money spent on the towers that will be absorbed.

This distinction becomes important when comparing a large group of freshly purchased towers with a smaller group that has been dealing damage or generating income over many rounds.

Why Did 45 Snipers Still Produce Degree 99?

A configuration containing approximately 45 Snipers, including all three required Tier 5 paths and numerous 0-4-2 Snipers, reached only Degree 99 despite extensive preparation around the old 250-tier target.

The S.P.I.D.E.R. purchase produced Degree 99 despite a large group of Snipers. Additional upgrade tiers provide no direct Power in Update 57.

Degree 99 means the final Power total did not reach the Degree 100 threshold. The Degree shown after purchase does not identify which individual contribution was short.

If you are preparing a similar Sniper setup, buying more upgrades for their tier count will not close that gap. Let the eligible towers accumulate more damage or income if that category is still below its cap, or increase the qualifying cash contribution if money is the limiting factor.

A large tower count by itself is no longer a useful readiness test.

How to Get Degree 100 Without Geraldo Totems

A solo Degree 100 attempt can be completed using the revised damage/income and cash contribution categories. You do not need extra Tier 5s or Paragon Power Totems when those contributions already supply the required total.

The purchase process has four stages.

1. Build the Three Required Tier 5 Towers

Choose the tower family you want to combine and purchase its three required Tier 5 upgrades.

For S.P.I.D.E.R., use the Sniper Paragon unlock and purchase instructions to prepare the required Snipers.

Other Paragons follow their own Tier 5 purchase requirements, but the Degree 100 Power calculation remains the same.

You can build additional towers of the same family when they will help generate qualifying damage, income, or sacrificed cash value. Simply buying more upgrades without a useful contribution is unnecessary.

2. Accumulate Damage or Qualifying Income

Keep the eligible tower family active while progressing through the rounds.

For Snipers, middle-path Supply Drop towers are particularly useful because their generated income can contribute alongside the family’s damage. The exact number of Supply Drop towers is not a Degree 100 requirement.

A smaller number of productive towers can contribute more toward the relevant Power category than a much larger group purchased immediately before combining.

You may also need independent defenses to survive while preparing the Paragon. The tradeoff is that towers outside the chosen family can take damage opportunities away from the towers whose statistics will contribute to the Degree.

Build enough support to keep the game alive without unnecessarily preventing the intended tower family from accumulating damage.

3. Prepare the Cash Contribution

Before purchasing the Paragon, compare your available cash with the amount you intend to invest through the slider.

For the Easy Sniper example, approximately $3.536 million is needed at the upgrade stage if you intend to use the maximum direct cash contribution.

Money already spent on qualifying additional Snipers can contribute to the cash category, potentially reducing the additional slider amount required.

The cash slider cannot compensate for every possible shortage in damage or income. Once the cash category reaches its cap, additional spending cannot raise its Power further.

4. Purchase the Paragon and Check the Result

Once the three required Tier 5 towers are ready and you have accumulated enough damage, qualifying income, and cash Power, combine them into the Paragon.

A solo S.P.I.D.E.R. configuration reached Degree 100 without any Paragon Power Totems. Geraldo was selected as the Hero, but no Totems were placed.

The Easy-mode Cash Slider example above shows a maximum additional contribution of approximately $2,856,000 and a displayed confirmation price of $3,536,001. That amount covers the Paragon purchase and slider contribution, not the damage or income required to reach Degree 100.

S.P.I.D.E.R. reaches Degree 100 without Paragon Power Totems. The revised damage, income, and cash contributions make this possible in solo play.

Geraldo’s Totems remain optional. You can select another Hero and still reach Degree 100 through the normal Paragon Power contributions.

Why Is My Paragon Stuck at Degree 90, 95, or 99?

The final Degree reflects the combined Power contributions at the moment of purchase. A single category reaching its maximum does not guarantee Degree 100 if the total remains below 200,000.

The most useful diagnosis depends on how you prepared the Paragon.

You filled the Cash Slider but still received a lower Degree.

The cash category has a fixed limit. A full slider cannot replace damage or income that has not yet been accumulated.

For a no-Totem purchase that depends on the two main categories, give the eligible tower family more time to build its damage/income contribution before combining.

Your towers have millions of damage but the Degree is still too low.

Compare the actual damage and qualifying income with the updated contribution thresholds, rather than relying on the old pre-v57 damage target.

The old 16.2-million-damage maximum is no longer sufficient to fill the revised damage/income category by itself.

You purchased dozens of additional towers immediately before combining.

New towers can add eligible sacrificed cash value, but they have little opportunity to accumulate damage or income when purchased at the last moment.

Once the cash contribution is full, additional low-tier purchases that have not dealt damage or earned income provide no further benefit.

You cannot afford the full slider amount.

Remember that the slider payment is additional to the Paragon upgrade price. Compare your available money with the combined confirmation price, not just the cost displayed on the regular upgrade button.

If you already have enough eligible cash invested in absorbed towers, you may not need to fill the slider completely.

You are one Degree short of the maximum.

Degree 99 is close, but it still falls below the required 200,000 Power.

Buying an arbitrary upgrade is not a reliable fix. Determine which contribution can still increase before creating another Paragon.

If damage/income has not reached its cap, continue accumulating qualifying damage or income. If the cash contribution is incomplete, save money or increase eligible sacrifices. If both categories are already at their maximum, their combined Power is sufficient for Degree 100 without Totems.

Should You Buy the Paragon Now or Keep Farming for Degree 100?

Keep farming if your goal is Degree 100 and eligible damage, income, or cash contributions are still below the required total. Additional rounds can help, but only while the existing defense can survive them.

For Freeplay survival or a Boss encounter, buying a lower-Degree Paragon earlier may be more useful than waiting for maximum Power. Once the required contributions are sufficient for Degree 100, further farming solely for Degree offers no benefit.
